Yessir I know that you are right but a man can dream. Other than the leaks the engine is a hoss and I think I will keep it around for as long as I am able to work on it and when I can't it will be up to my son as to what to do with her. I got the oil cooler back on so time will tell if she is fixed or not and if I have to spring for a new set of gaskets......
Oh man, I put the Strickly Diesel dipstick adapter on the 7.3 today. D A N G!!!!!! that was a job and a half.....but it's done now. I hope I don't have to worry about that again. The starter is back on and hocked up. Getting closer. Also a little up top.

If you paint the alternator/PS pump bracket, you’ll want to clean the contact points with alternator and block. The alternator grounds through its body, through bracket, then block and back to battery.
Oh man thanks SSJ, I just installed that bracket Sunday.... I will have to uninstall and clean the points you told me about.. I had no idea so thanks again my friend

Not as critical on the passenger side bracket since that is for the AC compressor. Still a good idea to clean contact surfaces to avoid galvanic corrosion issues though.
I'm loving the touch of blue on the alternator bolt heads. Now you have to do all the other visible bolt heads for the AC compressor, HPOP reservoir, plenums......
Hahaha!!!! The bolt heads on the alternator were a mistake Yeah SSJ the little man in the backround is in my son's shadow wherever he goes. He is a rescue that my son found at my hunting camp that someone had abandonded, dirty and starving....Scooter has been with us now for about 3 and a half years.
