Guys I need help again!!!!! I hadan issue with throttle response on the old girl 7.3 and ordered a new assembly from Clay at RiffRaff. Well I installed it per instructed(no brainer) and recalibrated as instructed. Took her for a run and still the same issue. I can push the pedal to the floor and can hardly get 40 MPH out of it!!!! But then she catches up and runs great. Any ideas?? Greatly appreciated......
What do you mean by "catches up"? Is your foot still on the floor with the pedal under it and it takes 2 - 3 seconds for the PCM to recognize this pedal action?
I read above you have an Edge tuner CTS2 or something like that. I am not familiar with that tuner, but does it have a stock tune bypass setting by chance? If so, have you tried running the truck in the stock tune?
Yessir Mr.Sous,I push the pedal and nothing then it's like fuel is just shot into it,it just surges ,clanking the universal joints. Thats what I mean by "catches up". I don't think it's turbo lag because I didn't have this issue a year ago before the "non oil change" fiasco. I have an Edge Evolution CS2 Diesel tuner and it has 3 settings; Stock, Tow, Race and Extreme. After the upgrade I started it off in Stock setting and had the issue so I went to the Tow setting where it is now, still the issue that's why I thought it was the TPS and bought the pedal assembly. I have a TPS gauge on the CS2 and it shows the percentage of throttle and it shows, while I'm driving, from 0 to 100% throttle. I've only driven it once sincce I moved the wires on the MAP as per SSJ so I'm not sure if that has fixed the problemor not. I will let ya'll know. And what is RiffRaff OCR?
Are we talking like excess turbo lag by "Catches up"?
^^^This was my first thought as well.

Log the APP PID with FORScan and take particular note of what the APP percentage is as it relates to you stepping on the pedal. This is the most accurate way to tell if the signal is lagging I think.
OK so I pulled up the APP on ForeScan and it read 12.60 without pressing the pedal and on the ocilliscope was a flat line until I pressed the pedal. It then went up to about 90 or so %. Is that what it is supposed to show? and still no DTC's on ForeScan.....
Hey guys, it's been a while. I purchased a boost leak tester and tested the F350 today. Man it sounded like I didn't have a v-band clamp on the turbo to spider. I took it all apart again and put it all back together. Now all I here is air escaping through the CCV doghouse which I think is normal....I HOPE!!!!!! Anyway I understand now why it is so important to do the test. I haven't test driven it yet so I can't say what a difference it has made but I will soon......
Awesome!
I had a plenum leak that eluded me through 2 boost leak tests. Lots of soapy water finally found it. I had thought the sound was just CCV but it tricked me.
Here’s a link to the good test I did after fixing the plenum as reference. The gauge slows a lot now once you get below 10psi (from memory…). Previously it would keep going down at a steady pace all the way to zero.
Great job sir! Your hard work, dedication and persistence is starting to pay off. Often times when we (anyone) does a bunch of changes all at once, they don't come together right the first time around. Your ability to sort through the "issues" and find a course of action to success is what sets you and many others apart.
We hope you have many years and many, many miles of great driving ahead of you.
