It is basically self explanatory as you do it. Takes about 15 minutes. If you really need a video I will gladly take one of my spare harnesses out of file cabinet and record installing it on a spare engine that is in my shop
I think the Tech Folder should have pictures and diagrams. The only connectors to be really wary of are the IPR and EBPV actuator connectors. They are the same style and close enough that you could accidentally swap them.
Ok, thanks guys. I have already started putting the harness back on and the connectors are falling where they are supposed to connect being they have been there for 20 years. I thought I might back-up but the memory in the bend of the wires are my back-up. Thank ya'll for answering my post though
Anybody want to help me decide if I should delete the EBPV on my 2002 7.3 powerstroke?
the riffraff delete kit is super easy to install, my advice is to also buy another turbo clamp for the back towards the firewall they can get old and break
You did a really nice job. If I ever need to get back into my engine bay as much as you have, I will be refreshing the tape with a color matching version.
It is the little things and the details that make a big difference, even if it is purely aesthetic. Which in your case it was both aesthetic and practical in nature.
Thank you Mr. Sous!!!!! All that pretty but I have an issue with the oil cooler I rebuilt. I was under the truck yesterday starting to put a new oil dipstick tube in and noticed a drip of engine coolant. It was coming from the gasket between the oil filter housing and block so now I have to pull the oil cooler back off to see what the problem is.... Always something. Also the oil dipstick adapter on the oil pan is loose so I had to order the 300 dollar repair kit!!!!!! Hopefully this will end soon
Sorry to hear about the oil cooler. It's very easy to roll one of those o-rings when putting it back together.
I can attest to the Golden Nugget. It's expensive (and quite the point of contention and it has it's own thread in addition to numerous comments in posts) but had a 100% success rate when I installed mine. Buy once...cry once. There are some other options for repair/replacement but I wasn't interested in "probably". I had no problem ponying up the extra dough for a guaranteed fix.
As for the drips/leaks ending soon there's no guarantee. These trucks are old so o-rings wear out. I would go a couple of years with only self-inflicted PMS issues but was chasing stains/drips/leaks for the last couple years I had the truck.
