thanks! Even if I leave the plenums as is, it’s going to feel like a whole new truck. Should get some extra pep from the springs, faster warm up from the 205 degree thermostat, and the ability to turn again from the new PS pump haha

Riff Raff plenums are realy nice. You going with the 3" or the 2". Got the email too, thought those were for the smaller 2" plenums. I'm not crazy about the oring though. Think mine are the 10 hole ones.

I went with 3" plenums and a y from CSD. Noce upgrade. Definitely let's more air in. The size difference is crazy, here's the old plenum boot, fitting cleanly inside the new 3" boot. I had some weird early 99 y pipe before.

I’m just planning on keeping it 2” for now, as I eventually want to go to a T4 set up, so I’ll switch to a 3” when that time comes

the cost won’t be fun, but I am tentatively planning on building another motor with the T4 set up, and selling this motor complete with turbo and all

Can you not run the 3" plenums with your setup now? I Jeter had a stock turbo on mine so idk what issues you'd have to deal with.

Building a whole other motor would be nice, but you already have so much wrapped up into this one.

I have a stock turbo housing and my IC piping is from the Banks IC kit, so I haven't really looked into finding a new intake y that hits the plenums as 3" and will fit the banks piping. In terms of the new motor, now that I am doing all of this head work, its a lot less attractive to do a whole new build. But I figure if I ever do build the bottom end and/or go to a T4 set up, I could always sell my up pipes, IC piping, plenums, and stock turbo with the balanced assembly as a set to someone

Getting a new intercooler pipe and y aren't too expensive. Heck, might be able to modify the one you have now. Chop it and add a boot.

The y wasn't too pricey. 150 ish I think. And they'll tap whatever holes you want for various sensors.

I always try to look at the long game if i can. There has to be a very good reason for me to buy an expensive part I'm knowingly going to replace in the future.

it’s definitely something to think about now that it looks like I won’t be getting the plenums before my trip. I’ll look further into it and do it after my trip.

Tonight was some great progress. Got the entire drivers side done and all of the pushrods/rockers back in (loosely, still need torqued), Injector tips and bores need cleaned and then she’s ready to go back together!
