As for the oil pan I'm a sucker for TA-31 sealant as it is a great sealant and if they use them on the intake plenums where there boost and oil residue is going thru them and still hold, yeah I like it. Very rare for pan leaks with TA-31. As for the Moroso pan gasket I've seen some folks here in the forums use it and are happy with them.
Thanks for the input on that guys. To be safe I’m going to loctite the new ones in, they should be here tomorrow. Good timing at work, we have a media blaster on site for a couple of days and he took care of the manifolds for me!
Awesome. Now have them squared and ceramic coat 'em!

If I had a little more time and funds left I would be ceramic coating and wrapping all of the exhaust stuff, but for now it's just getting some VHT paint to hopefully keep it looking okay. Not that there's really any benefit of this, just that I would feel bad putting those rust buckets into the truck when the rest of this is cleaning up so nice
Local place here does great stuff at modest price. My downpipe ran $50 coated. That was to keep radiant heat down through firewall.
Uppipes done there, collector, turbine housing. Ha.
Are you making sure they are square prior to reinstall?
I'll have to look into if I have a shop nearby that's reasonable. For firewall heat I'm planning on pulling the factory heat shielding off and installing a sound deadening/high temp insulation behind them while the motor is out. I'll verify that they are square to the best of my ability with what I have. If they aren't, I'll just pull the manifolds from the motor that's currently in the truck since I have no issue with them right now
Adam hooking me up with spare manifolds otherwise I would ask for yours Just to minimize downtime on my heap. The cabin smell becomes awful after a while.

if you need any other parts just let me know. I’ll basically have 2 engines left over after this haha
As always, I underestimated the amount of work I had left to have the motor complete. But this weekend I got the old motor out and transferred all the parts that I had left to transfer to the new one. Next weekend I’ll get the truck on the lift, pull the cab, replace the body mounts and put everything back together (hopefully)
Well, the truck was running. All I have to say is if you already own a dieselsite radiator fan and you decide to put a fluidampr on your truck, try to remember a few years back to when you got the fan. There is an option for a spacer for people with a fluidampr. Without it, when you put any load on the truck your fan will defect, hit the damper (or radiator, honestly haven’t looked yet), and explode
