Looks like that product is doing a good job of controlling rust.
I am going to be doing a 90k mile (my third 30k mile trans fluid drop and add) soon. There are a few small problem areas -- along the rocker pinch weld -- that I should have Monstaliner - ed when the truck was brand new but the job got away from me. I plan on doing this stuff this year during the hot summer weather. I'll take pics and post up.
I got my Better Diesel FBC (and the Hot Shots EDT) in the other day. I filled up yesterday and went ahead and added a dose of the FBC... however, I learned real quick that using the little squirt tubes that came with the FBC doesn't work well... After I filled the little 1 oz bowl up and then turned it up to pour into the tank the bottle dribbled around the other cap... if that makes sense... Anyway, I will be grabbing a few of the 30ml syringes to keep on hand and will just start using that instead of trying to pour it again. This stuff really does smell pretty bad though... makes diesel smell like water! lol...
(Also, an off topic question, but I have enough Optilube XPD left for 3 more tanks. I typically fill up between 1/4 and 1/2 tank. Should I just run a tank of fuel without any additive before changing over to the Hot Shots from the Optilube, or will it be ok if a tank gets a little mixed with both from just switching over immediately?)

Either or, it's ok to mix additives like that, it's also ok to wait a tank, no harm done either way

I put my additives in a old Stay-Bill bottle. It has a longer neck.
When you live here, it's the only way to keep a truck solid. Especially now that they use a liquid de-ice agent as well. It really doesn't bother me. It's not motor oil but a red in color petroleum based product designed for such a reason... To keep the rust at bay. I actually love the smell of the stuff. I'm used to it. It doesn't stay wet like that under the truck.
I've got to be honest, I've never been **** about keeping an engine squeaky clean. No slight to the peeps here who do.
Just leaving a side job now and here's a few shots under the wheel wells. No oil anywhere. Very, very minor rust.
Rear wheel well.
Front -- plow frame
That looks pretty good under there. In the summer pressure wash under there and on the rust spots I found this stuff to spray on rusty bolts and stuff. https://www.duplicolor.com/product/rust-barrier/ I got mine at Auto Zone.

I have the long neck Optilube bottles, but it looks like I will be adding much less of this stuff per fill than the OptiLube. So long as a 30ml syringe will fit inside the hole on the FBC (& Hot Shot) bottles, I think I may try that for a while. I always added the additive before fueling up though, roughly guessing based on how much fuel I had left in my tank when filling up, but by doing this and adding afterwards will allow me to add a more precise amount too... But I'm not getting rid of the Optilube bottles either!

You have to remember something; that Better Diesel is just for the combustion of the fuel, if I'm remembering correctly -- I don't believe there's anything else in there for lubricity, cetane improver, anti-gel, fuel cleaner, etc. I am still dosing my fuel with K100D+. If it were my truck, I'd still use the Hot Shots. But that's up to you.
I keep the Max Mileage in a .30 cal ammo can. Those military style cans have a rubber seal on top that seals the can up. That Max Mileage stuff has a strong smell to it. The K100 I just keep in the seat cover rear pocket. That doesn't have such a strong smell and there's no smell in my truck at all.

That's the same thing I understand, the FBC is only for more complete combustion of the fuel, nothing more. I am going to continue to use an additional additive for cetane boost, lubricity and cleaner. At the moment, I still have enough Optilube XPD for 3 more tanks, and then I am going to switch over to the Hot Shots EDT. As best I can tell, the Optilube has been fine, but I have heard so many great things about Hot Shots, and it's less expensive per dose than the XPD I am using, so I figured I would switch over to the Hot Shots now that I am almost out of XPD. I went ahead and added the FBC to the tank 2 days ago when I filled up so I can get started with that, but was wondering about when it comes time to switch over from Optilube to Hot Shots. Since I have been filling up when I'm around half a tank, I didn't know if I should run a fill up without anything to somewhat get rid of the rest of the Optilube treated fuel before switching over to the Hot Shots. It sounds like it doesn't matter though.

Ahh my fault. I thought you were wondering about using the FBC with the Hot Shots. I misunderstood. As to what @bobcat67 said, I think it doesn't matter either

Reason: correct post
Overkill - Happy Easter! My Better Diesel FBC should arrive this week. I’m old and lazy do you have a link for the syringes you guys use? I combined EDT and LX4 into the big bottle and measure out 1oz per 25/gal.
the syringe idea seems like a cleaner way.
