Ok black toilet and gun standing in the corner! Taking notes here! Nice touch with the gold Joe. Carry the theme over into the new building too!

Chris
You never know when you might need a rifle when sitting on the commode.
Sometimes I think you guys are crazy, putting gold leaf in the bathroom. Everybody knows the bathroom is where you store extra musical instruments. And truck parts.
boy, some of you guys are lucky... I've seen some shops here larger than my house !!! Here's my humble shop. If the truck is outside it's not bad, but with the truck inside you have to go outside to
change your mind. But, it got the 53 built and keeps it out of the rain.
John,
That there is a very detailed and organized shop for your 53! I have had to work like that for the last 35 years. Got a lot of things done climbing around and over things in the way. But I am not nearly as organized as you! Hope Joe is moving forward on his build.
Regards,
Chris
John...looks like you have made the best use out of the space you have! A friend and his wife stopped by a few weeks ago and walked through my garage to get into the house. His wife blurted out, "it looks like a "store" in here". I guess if your garage is neat and has good lighting that it MIGHT look like a store...whatever, I took it as a compliment.
It might be a bit before I have any updates. I was having some disagreements with the building company. I think we are through most of that and they just sent the plans to the engineers for development.
They said that drawings take typically 2-3 weeks and delivery of the building is taking 8-10 weeks.
I need to begin looking for a builder. They say you can do these yourself, but I don't quite have the necessary tools and help needed.
Good luck with a builder...I am finding that trades people are getting hard to find and even harder to lock in to a project. It seems that the most eager to take on a project are also the least experienced.
In CA you would have never got as far you have without engineered drawings and permits on site. I am taking it that you have a metal building going up. The building company usually has some recommended contractors who are familiar with their buildings, ask them. Putting up your own bldg takes alot of hidden expenses, a forklift and man lifts on site for the duration on the job, rentals on these can become huge. Drill motors, screw chucks, chords, and the list goes on. A wood frame may not be as bad in the ways of equipment but still a big factor. Good luck with your project and remember these words, patience, foresight and creative
They gave me a list of names, but I'm not confident those names have experience. I didn't get a good feel from the sales guy on their relationship with the suggested contractors. I will contact some of them. It may come down to finding anyone willing to do the work. I'm pleased with my concrete work, but he was the only person that would even give me a bid.
I have a place called Sunbelt Rentals about 1/2 a mile from me. I went online and a 16' lift is around $1200 for a week. So, finding a contractor with the right equipment will be critical.
We are a bit more relaxed on building permits around here. I just had to describe it all and list my main contractor and electrical contractor.

I don't suppose you have an Amish or Mennonite community nearby? They typically have excellent tradesmen within them.
