Using the dent puller I reduced the main denting from >1/4” to 1/32” ish except where more fill welds go.

In my experience, the more I mess with it the worse it gets!

I call 1/32" dents ready for bondo. Or finished if behind a bumper.

New welding cleaned up ready for body filler!

Now the front and back panels are welded/repaired. The side panels are not rusty so the hard part is done!

Just a little sanding and the bed will be ready.

Tired of welding, sanding, & grinding so I decided to do a little more fun piece. I am laying out the L channel to mount on the lower inside bevel of the bed toprail. Approximated the layout on the top rail and then will transfer to the bevel. The channel I got is 1 1/8” wide so it fits nicely. It will angle down but will also be out of the way and super strong!

Hey, that’s a great idea. I’ve put that in cargo trailers before, but I’ve never thought of it under the bed rails. I might have to do that on my truck. Very handy. Good thinking!

First aircraft channel mounted on the front. These took 2.25” bolts.

Want to get all the drilling done before bodywork and paint

The rings can be placed anywhere on 1” increments. With huge working limits...

Tie down solution

I am very pleased how these L-channel fit the inside rails. They are slim and out of the way but can snap in fittings anywhere along them!

True to form I will now uninstall these to do the painting so that I can add them to the list of parts on my truck installed at least twice...
