Why dont they institute a control card like everyone else?
I think another card to carry around and dig out of my wallet is wasteful. So I guess it may be a personal preference.
I like doing it all from my phone. I use the Conoco App too and that works the same way except you can put in the pump # and it turns on automatically without getting an attendant involved at all but that is one specific company. Mudflap is dealing with multiple brands so I can understand it wouldn't be that easy.
I usually go in anyways to use the bathroom or browse the truckers stuff.
Reading on one of the RV forums, Loves cut a deal with TSD for a $.28 discount. Can't find anything on TSD site about it and the local Loves doesn't show the discount on the Open Roads app. Anyone else come across this?
Edit: May have figured it out, local Loves posted prices are $.25-$.30 higher than the rest of the local stations

Where did you read this? I have had the TSD for a few years now but I found I can get a better price using Gas Buddy. The T/A I have been using is $3.40 and I found a Circle K that was $3.15in the same area. Gas Buddy will show "deals" in the app, hit deal before pumping, run the card, fill and your done. Just like TSD the cards linked to your bank account. How come the links connected to 87crewdually, you get paid to recruit for everyone here down loads the app.

I don't browse any other forums or social media like FakeBook or Instaspam, so I have not seen this "deal" mentioned before. Although, I am familiar with the fact that Love's raises their prices higher than competitors on a regular basis.
For me, on a personal level. The real benefit of a TSD Logistics fuel card is the ability to use ANY commercial fuel pump/lane. No need to go into the store to authorize the pump or leave your card at the counter or stop at $100. Pull up, fuel up and go. This is the sort of service I would pay for, especially when towing the 5th wheel.
The possibility of saving some money is a perk or additional benefit on top of the convenience factor in my opinion.
The best part about all of this is that the program is 100% voluntary. If someone feels it is too cumbersome to use or just not worth it, cool. Press on with whatever you feel is the best method for your application.
Some use Sam's, Costco or other apps to find the best fuel prices. For me, pulling 1/4 mile off the highway to fill up 75 gallons of fuel and then getting back on our way in under 15 minutes is worth carrying the TSD Logistics card.
Frankly, if I had my own business I would look into getting an EFS card, but I don't. So, I use the great idea and generous offer of the TSD card to benefit my family and journey.
And on gasbuddy it shows $3.88 so Loves just inflates the price and the discount brings it back to the market price. What a deal.
Loves and Flying J/Pilot have always been higher as all of the truck stop chains are. You are paying for convenience- usually a clean store with clean restrooms and one or two fast food chains inside.
If you are pulling a trailer of any length and require diesel it's worth it. The discount just makes it that much better.
There is a Loves in Wichita Falls and the small Exxon next door is the same price
. In Amarillo we always use to stop at the Pilot on the 75 exit (loop 335). I think I got 5 cents off using my Good Sams card. The store was always packed as is the parking lot. They just built a nice Toot Totem across the street. Same price as the Pilot but they have a large parking lot as well as fueling stations for RVs with gas (if you have a gasser). I think Toot Totem has some kind of gas card I just need to look into it.
When we travel from TX to CO multiple times per year we are usually pulling a 24' bumper pull or 21' gooseneck. There is next to no way to get into a Circle K, Walmart or anything else - especially since the pandemic hit and their are people everywhere.
It's simple. If you don't want to use the TSD card or go to Loves or TA don't....................
No more truck stops for me, stopped at a Buc-ees on this last trip and I am ruined . My pump was #221, plenty of room to get around with the 5th and very dog friendly. Asked the boss to go in and see if they had any subs as we were running late and only 10 miles from the campground. I got a funny look but she went anyway, before I was halfway through fueling she texts they have brisket sandwiches and did I want sliced or chopped. Came back with sandwiches, chips and desert, she counted 16 checkout lanes. On top of all, it was the cheapest fuel around and I didn't have to double swipe the card, pumped $117 with one hit.
Closest TSD accepted truck stops were 2 Loves at $3.50 and $3.40, I paid $3.29, it's good to have options.
I have never visited a Buc-ees and have been in the southeast region since 2005. Although, I have seen a few new ones pop up on the side of the interstate and they are MASSIVE!!! I saw that there were 4 rows of pumps, with 4 pumps each and they went on for a long ways based on what I could see from the interstate. Easily 150 pumps, just on the consumer side of the station. The next time we head up that way, we might pull in just to check it out. I hear they have great pulled pork as well.
Wouldn't be great if Buc-ees was nation wide and in those out of the way places like WY, MT, TX, UT, etc... For those of us that travel cross country and long distances, sometimes we don't see anything worthy of stopping for hundreds of miles.
I agree that having more options in WY and MT would be great. The only truck stops that take the TSD card in Wyoming are along I-80. Flying J is one I try to avoid since they excluded TSD, but sometimes, it's the easiest option. Some of the Maverick stations in Wyoming have good access. The Maverick station in Jackson, WY is the last stop before heading up Teton Pass and into Idaho. The layout of the station is just OK if you're the only one there, but if the pumps are occupied it's not worth getting in there with my truck/trailer. I've hit the coffee shop next door, waiting for the pumps to clear out.
There is a new Sinclair station on I-25 south of Cheyenne. It has big rig lanes and the fuel prices are competitive with the TSD price.
When I'm traveling off the beaten path, I'll use Google Maps Street View to see what kind of access there is to a station. Most of my fuel stops are planned out before I leave home.
We have been through Jackson at least two dozen times on our way to visit family in ID. We like to stop at the pull outside just at the bottom of the pass looking across the desert toward the mountains.
If you are in Jackson during breakfast time, check out The Bunnery if you have time. The Virginian is good too.

I've been that route only once. I was too busy dodging traffic that I didn't have time to look around. But I'll keep those in mind.
