Is it possible that the discount price is $3.05, but the 10% difference fee was $0.07/gallon, bringing your total to $3.12?
I just got my card this week and activated it and downloaded the app. Haven't used it yet, but was playing around with the app a little. The closest supported truck stop is a T/A and it advertises $3.704 cents a gallon, which is about the going rate of the cheapest diesel in my area. When I click on that location, I see the posted price is $4.299/gallon, discount price is $3.704/gallon, so a $0.595 discount per gallon. I would expect to pay $3.76 with the 10% TSD fee.
However, the notes below the price also indicate a $0.65 "trans fee". What is that?
The $0.65 is a transaction fee that you pay to use the card. You'll combine it with the 10% that TSD gets. For example, if you saved $20, you'll pay TSD $2.00 and then pay the $0.65 transaction fee, making your total $2.65
Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate the discounted fuel and easier access to truck stops while towing... but TSD is probably making more money off these fuel sales than they are actually driving trucks!

This is exactly what happens. Someone at TSD said hey the RVers use a lot of diesel so if we let them so if we let them use the card 1. we can negotiate a better price because we are buying more & 2. we can charge them a small fee and MAKE MONEY! A transaction fee for the paper work and 10% of what they save, Brilliant business strategy..
The .65 fee is for certain stations, there are some stations that do not get charged a fee. The more fuel you buy, the greater the savings, but sometimes the discount doesn't match the map even before the 10% to the big guy. Don't get me wrong, I have saved thousands with the card, but I found I need to wait until invoice to put the actual cost into Fuelly.

They may be making more money off people like me and others, but I am very pleased to be able to fill up in the commercial lanes without going in to preauthorize. The "savings" are an added bonus and the last two fill ups I did I saved almost $40 off the advertised price on the sign out front.
That is $40 in my pocket that helped pay for dinner, adventures or the cost of living in 2024.
I for one appreciate being let into the cool kids club and allowed to carry an EFS card in my wallet.

TSD switched to a new billing system to make it easier to understand. What I wonder is if they will have a savings summary available.Gas Buddy has a monthly update showing how much was saved the prior month, would be cool for TSD to have the same.
Far as I know you just need to track the savings yourself. I just went back the first year and totaled the electronic receipts and the savings they showed. I use TSD, Mud Flap, Gas Buddy and always check all three and most of the time TSD has the best price, on occasion Mud Flap but there are few places to use it where I live.

I agree wholeheartedly! Good for them to be making some money, but excellent for me to be able to save some money. We have a local cash only station that is usually the cheapest fuel around. They are currently $3.79/gallon. I went to a TA truck stop that advertised $4.299/gallon, with TSD it was $3.678/gallon. I wanted to try it out before we hit the road for a long trip later this month, plus I wanted to top off my DEF, so I tried it out, even though it was only a couple gallons of fuel. I ultimately paid $3.705/gallon, plus I bought bulk DEF rather than jugs of questionable age/quality. Saved $5.34 today... but it'll be substantially more in the next month!
I am quite pleased, grateful that I found this thread. When we trek down to Florida, it'll be much easier to track fuel prices on the app and hit truck stops rather than have my bride pulling up Google Earth and trying to recon the parking lot.
I filled last night and saved only $6. boo. Anyway I did discover that the fuel savings IS tracked on the APP. when you go to account cards, there is a summary of the prior 3 months showing how much was saved each month. I saved $533.11 during October-end of year.
I've tried to sign up and haven't gotten the small deposit amounts to be able to verify... I am probably gonna have to call them.
Those small savings add up!
I just signed up as well. It took 2 full days before the small confirmation deposits showed up in my account.
I paid for the expedited service, and I am now finding out, that just gets you to the front of the line, they still mail it via USPS slow mail. Sent e-mail today, they said it was mailed out on Feb 8th....still not here. Hope it gets here soon, I am starting a trip on Monday and hope to use it.
Also noticed prices really going up in the past 10 days... darn it!
It really didn't take too long at all. I was hoping to get it before my trip (tomorrow) and it came in about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully you get it in time!!!
