no it isn’t. But I’m not here to argue. Take it or leave it.
(What number does the original end on?)
i removed the file that does the version check from the order and updated the other numbers to correspond.
Yeah, I looked at the two sets of data and noticed the one command line being taken out. Rather than remove that line myself, I followed the instructions and replaced the works. Thanks again, SolylentSaxgod. Nice work!

I used an online file diff program and it said it was identical. Perhaps I cut and pasted the SAME info. Will check again. Didn't intend to argue, just contribute.
Edit: When I copied and pasted the original from the text file, it must not have copied to the clipboard and I just pasted the same thing twice. I just did it again and it does in fact show a difference. Again, no argument intended. My bad.
So, after rebooting my cable modem (2x), my wireless router (2x), and my PC (2x) I was finally able to complete the official Sync 3 V3.0 update download (2.2 GB) in about 30 minutes. The zipped file name (truck configuration specific?) is JR3T-14G381-AL. I'll try doing the install tomorrow.
My download was 1.5 GB as well, and the file name was the same as Jim's above. Ironically, I believe the smaller file is for Nav versions. I don't know how that works . . .
For anyone who has installed this 3.0 update, is it build number 17276?
I had installed Version 3 in November, when news of an "unofficial version" came out. Thinking this 3.0 version that just came out was "new and improved", I tried an update tonight. After about 5 minutes of the "Updating Software..." message on the SYNC3 screen, it said my software is up to date. Hence, my question on Build Number.
Was hoping the default to FM upon startup had been remedied....
The new release is build 18025. Not sure what features are new and/or improved, but as the truck is more "computer" than ever before, it seems prudent to keep things up to date.
There are some benefits to the newest version of Sync3. The biggest thing for me has been a drastic improvement in voice recognition on V3.0 versus V2.3. It works flawlessly now. Few other little tidbits too. Go to settings, general, about SYNC and it'll tell you your software version. My build was late October 2017 and I was 2.2 before my first update. Check it out.
My download was 1.5 GB. Wonder what the difference is?
I`m not sure if it`s the same but just like the 2.3 update, factory navigation equipped vehicles have a smaller update file than vehicles without navigation which seems backwards to me.
My update is installed and confirmed. Our XLT does not have the optional OEM Nav system (our TomTom is just fine, thank you), and I have no idea why the downloaded update file is larger than the updates for the NAV units. The update install took two attempts, but both were pretty fast (under 15 minutes each).
In terms of "What's different?", it's my understanding that I should now be able to use the Waze app on an iPhone.
