Today, when my truck hooked up to WiFi, it started to download a new update. The first filename it was downloading was JR3T-14G423-CA_103602.tar.gz -- a file that was/is INSIDE of the zip file above. (I shut the truck off @ this point, as I didn't feel like waiting 2 hours and letting the truck run).

The Ford owners's site states that I'm @ the latest version of 3.0.

The Sync screen in the truck indicates that I'm at Build 18025 (the latest build).

Any idea why the truck is trying to download that file (and potentially more, if I let it run) via WiFi?
Same for me.

Endless nights of pure irritation... It's not a forever cure. You have to do it every time but muscle memory takes over after a few nights...

I love that you can turn off the display entirely for those long night drives. Nothing better than total darkness in the cab.

I have the "default to FM" syndrome since loading the pre-release version of 3.0. Sounds like loading the official version will be a waste of time for me, since those who have done so report the same side affect of "default to FM".

Bummer. I was hoping for a cure.

I also have the "default to FM" syndrome. So this morning I used the Fordpass app to have a guide return my call. They transferred me to the In Vehicle Technology Team. I explained the issue, then was put on a brief hold while she researched the issue. The issue to Ford is no issue at all, she claims it is designed to default to FM across all of Ford Sync 3 systems, and it was simply a glitch that it was staying on Sirius in previous versions. According to this woman the only way to change this, is for many people to call in to complain and then it may get changed in a later version. Also according to this woman, there is no way to downgrade to a previous version. In case any of you would like to provide your feedback, the direct # to the In Vehicle Technology Team is 800-392-3673 then option 1 for English, option 3 for Sync, option 1 for Sync and option 2 for all other questions. I tested the options and you can press them fairly quickly without having to listen to the full option menu.

Just FYI, you can indeed downgrade to 2.2. It will install right over 3 if you so desire.

Talking

Today it finally happened. My connection to the phone timed out and it defaulted to.... SIRIUSXM!!!!

I am running current version 18025... It may be a fluke but at least it stuck to Sirius once... lol

Have you tried this? Any chance you still have the files to do it?

I didn't but guys in the other Sync 3 thread did it when they didn't want the V3 beta due to bugs. You can't go to V2.3 as it has a version checker and won't let you go backwards. V2.2 was the last version without the version checker.

Does anyone have a link to the Sync 3, 2.3 update files?

You can edit the XML file to trick it into thinking its whatever version you want, FYI.

Didnt worked for me, sync detected it , said it was downloading and after a while it just said that I already had the latest version
