I did the update Tuesday afternoon. Since then I have had some nagging little issues, mainly with sirius. The screen wouldn't list the proper song playing or the station that was playing, the readout would also change station numbers and names but not list the actual station that I was listening to. The backup screen froze once and I had to do a soft reset to clear it. At start up the radio would go to AM instead of Sirius which was what it was on when I turned off the truck. This morning I went ahead and did a master reset and so far, all of the issue have gone away. I can now enjoy my radio again using version 3.0 software. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these issues don't reappear.
1. USB Apps still don’t work they may play for a few minutes and then lock auatem
2. USB music from thumb drive, IPad IPhone still does not work
Car Play music does work
And a bulletin from Ford on 3/21:
47171 2016-2018 Various Vehicles - SYNC 3 - iPhone USB Audio Playback And App Link Functionality Issues
Some 2016-2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and connected to an iPhone recently upgraded to iOS 11.2.5 may exhibit functional concerns where USB audio playback and App Link will not operate. This may also include, under certain conditions, no Bluetooth streaming. Apple has released iOS 11.2.6 to address this concern. Advise the customer to update the device to iOS 11.2.6 and re-evaluate before performing any diagnosis or repairs for this condition. To checkthe iOS software level on an Apple iOS device, select Settings > General > About on the device.
EFFECTIVE DATE: 21-MARCH-2018
i am already in IOS 11.2.6 so that does not fix the issue
Where is the “sync 3” USB port location? Is it just the regular USB port? Also how do I know if it’s actually updating? Sync initially recognized the usb drive but now doesn’t appear to be doing anything

it takes a minute or few but then the top left of home screen will say updating
Good news for anyone who was stuck on the unofficial Sync 3 3.0 version.
I figured out how to get the official 3.0 to install!
1) Go to the flash drive where you copied your sync files.
2) Open the autoinstall.lst file with your text editor of choice.
3) Delete all of the text.
4) Paste the following text in:
; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.13 - Only for Nav/NA assemblies.
With android I can beam Pandora to applink without a usb cable, but waze isn't showing up? Is this what the update suppose to do? I'm a little confused.
I tried to do the update today. Not only was I unsuccessful but I managed to burn a bunch of gas from idling and lost my outside temperature read out......

Wow! A leap of faith and I jumped, and it worked! Thanks! Funny that the list of changes shown on the sync screen had about 10 languages listed, and under "English" simply said something like "Continuous software changes". At any rate with the older version of 3.0 my Mobile Apps would not enable. Now they do.
Wow!

waze still requires android auto. I guess its the IOS guys that get it as an app on the main screen.

Confused. That is the EXACT same text in the autoinstall.lst file that is comes with the downloaded file for the official 3.0 release. This won't allow a 3.0 pre-release to update to the official 3.0.
So, Ford says the Sync update 3.0 is available for download for my truck. However, when I start the download, my computer says the transfer speed is 40-100KB/sec, and that the 2.2 GB download will take ~15 hours.

Anybody see anything similar?
Thx,

My download speed varies all over the place. Sometimes it starts off slow, then picks up speed. I wonder if it's steam powered . . .
