I love reading this thread. I've become a big fan of the 6.2 in the past several years. We have 3 in our fleet. Wife's truck is a 19 250 with 15k, great truck for long distance travel. We have a 2011 250 ext cab short box with 100k, run like new, its a work truck and plows snow and hauls a sander in the bed in the winter. I recently traded my low mileage 350 for a high mileage 250 crew cab long bed. It currently has 206k on the odometer. I made the trade mostly because I got a good sum of money back, and we are buying the house next door to our property as an investment, so that's where most of my cash is going. The cclb is a 2015 lariat. Nice truck, everything works, not perfect but its a work truck. Runs and drives like new. My plans are mild lift, rear timbrens, fox shocks all around, plow springs in the front. Other than that, I probably will touch up the paint, and good maintenance. Hope to get a few years out of the truck, when the 2019 is payed off I will think about another new one, but for now the plan is to run the miles up. I'm thinking about starting a thread on this high mileage truck as I go through it.
I’m looking at picking up a 2012 F250 CCSB XLT with 85k miles on it from my buddy who is pretty particular about his things. He’s asking $20k for it. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Hoping it will treat me well. It will be very interesting going from a 2.7l F150 rocket ship XLT with the 302a package. I believe his truck is fairly basic in options.

We have a 2013 F350 6.2 with 4.30 gears and a 2020 F150 with the 2.7 and the F150 is a rocket ship and faster than the 6.2 empty but no way it will out pull the 6.2 but I do enjoy the extra mpg with the 2.7. They both have their place

Absolutely! I fully understand the differences. It’ll just be an adjustment. I’m torn between a 2008 F-350 Lariat fx4 v10 and his 2012 F250 base xlt with the 6.2. 99k and 85k miles respectively. The 2008 is about $2000 cheaper before any negiation.
This is nothing exciting compared to some. Longest I've ever kept any vehicle, 8.25 years.
I had a Chrysler Fifth Avenue for 11 years and the wife had a Mercury Mountaineer for 12.
I still have my '76 Harley Electra Glide I bought used from HPD in 1978 sitting in the garage with my other two 90's Harleys though.
I have 2011 CC 4X4 SB Lariat with over 100,000Mi on it. It has every option available including the moon roof. Every thing still works on it and the truck has been bomb proof. I use it mostly for towing my 11500lb toyhauler.
I have a 2014 f350 that was a rental truck for 40k miles in canada before coming to the US, I have since put another 40k miles on it and so far everything is working good, I do have the odd hard start issue but it hasnt gotten better or worse so I just live with it.. Otherwise.. its making a good farm truck with a flatbed and it tow's my car trailer and stock trailer and travel trailer just fine.
Nice stories on longevity.
Any horror stories on how forced induction affects that and what levels of boost might not?
over on the Raptor forums, whipple or Roush superchargers seem to be the way to go. Others don't seem to last on the 6.2, with one brand in particular being known for causing fires... Can't remember at the moment but I want to say Hennessy
Most of the raptor guys have been safe at the 650-700 crank hp rating with a good tune. the weak point is the rods and pistons. My plan is to go forced induction but I will also be going with forged internals from Manley. im planning on going with the whipple tuner kit. Which can be had for about 6500 during seasonal sales but no tune or injectors. I'm not a fan of the size injectors they include and the tune is useless for my truck. Yes you could have opted for a diesel at that point but I like being different.
