Are you going to replace the motor again when it's time or replace the truck.
Denny
Replace the motor. They have gone up to $5,300 for a reman. That being said it's way cheaper than buying a high dollar truck. Anyway I just redid the rear end and the drive shaft and put a new alternator and starter and belt tensioner. The truck actually runs awesome. Just burning oil. Added some Lucas oil stabilizer to it and I will see how that works out. If I can repair it I will do so but I may have to just get the whole motor.

how long did it take to do a swap of the engine? Was it a short block, long block or a complete engine. a forged short block would be the next large mod for mine.
I use motorcraft 5W-20 and change it about every 5 to 7,000 MI
Maybe go to 5W30? That is what is speced on the newer ones... (the Ford Place here uses that on all 6.2L)
PP HM oil also cleans piston ringlands. Maybe worth a try!
question from a guy looking to buy a used 6.2 in the future.. is the run and idle time on the display or do you need a OBD port reader and some software. What is a good ratio of run to idle.. your is 4100 run and 600 idle which come out to like 14% ?? i divided 600 by 4100.. and got .146.. just in looking that looks good.
EDIT..
what year can you see the hours on the engine with dash view monitor.. ??

I just did a 1,800 mile trip.. 1.500 pounds in bed of truck and pulling a 9,000 pound 12 foot tall trailer.... used Zero fluids.. and my truck has 150,000 miles...
no leaks, no problems. and did that trip in 4 days and 85 plus degrees temperature.
I purchased this truck last year with 135,000 miles, it had 4,100 running and 600 idle hours.
there is not a million or will not be million miles on original motor.. not sure how they look at that, but still amazing for a gasser.. The trans and rear end seem to be only thing mechanical that is original on the truck.. Now it seems the reman might be coming to its end with some 550K miles of hwy miles which is not a ton of engine revolutions vs city/town driving. That would be a number i would be highly interesting in knowing along with run hrs, idle hrs, and miles on engine.
Not sure how ford does or if they do oil change monitors but on the 2008 chev impala LTZ with 3.6L it was a combo of revolutions, air temp, fuel etc to determine when to change oil.. when we did more city/around town it was like 5K,, with more trips to florida it was more 7500 to 8Kmiles..

I've read a lot of good things about the 6.2 and it's longevity. How would a supercharger affect that?
I'm looking at a 2014 raptor with 65k miles. I'd have to finance and I just don't know what kind of lifespan I'm likely looking at for this supercharged engine.

the big thing is keeping up on maintenance and a good tune, it seems like 700 bhp is the limit with stock internals and the correct supporting mods. the other recommendation is swapping the stock oil pump with either a billet gear or a complete billet unit from Mellings. the stock pump is a known weak link for supercharged trucks. there are guys on the fordraptorforums.com that have 200k on their supercharged trucks. i would suggest checking that group out as well. i am working on trying to get a whipple to work on my f250, so i have done the oil pump swap and arp head studs.
