Hi everyone! So here is an update on my 2012 F350 chassis cab. As of today it has 743,322 miles. More highway miles than stop n go. Still on my 2nd motor so I have about 325,000 miles on it. As far as recent parts/repairs goes...
)rear end axle bearings only... original rear end still doing great( old bearings in good condition but the seals were leaking)
)hood struts
)front sway bar links
) replaced the following parts out of precaution. Tires, battery, drive belt, belt tensioner, alternator, hoses.
Using Motocraft 5w-20 and MC oil filters.
Original tranny. Just periodic fluid/filter changes. It does leak a little. Not on the ground but you can smell it burning the fluid but I just top it off every six months or so
tune ups about every 100,000 miles
Overall I am very happy with this truck. It is very durable.
Ed, you are an animal! Sounds like your truck is serving you well and I hope Ford Motor Company is watching you closely. Maybe they will give you a new truck when you hit 1 million miles (I wont bet on it!). Love your story.
nope. if properly maintained the trans will last forever.
there is a member here in chicago if i remember correctly that runs airport shuttle service.
with the exception of the oil change every two weeks and trans service once a month, his F450 buses run 24/7. and all have over 1 million miles on the original engines and transmissions.
Very recently passes 100,000 on my 2012 Raptor. It's been absolutely rock solid. Motorcraft oil and filters every 4,000 miles. New plugs at 75,000. Air filters as needed. Usually STP or Motorcraft. 5 Star 91 octane daily driven tune since about 80,000 miles. I don't drive it a ton, but when I do I'm usually taking it through some whoops or hanging it out around the desert roads. Love the sound of it through the Raptor stock exhaust. Throaty.
Whew...that was a lot of reading to catch up on. Im looking at an 2015F350 wit the 6.2L.....107k on it...Runs great...Thinking of pulling the plug and buying it. Trans fluid looks like it needs to be changed....Pulled a carfax on it and its only had 2 owners before.......So it may be in my future! The 01 is getting tired..Thanks Guys!!
Have you seen the factory service schedule for the 6R140? Look it up, Ford calls for the first fluid and filter change at 150,000 miles for normal or sever duty same schedule. So I think the transmission will be fine at 107,000 miles.

New to this forum and new to 2021 Ford Super Duty with 6.2 gas. Just came back from road trip to SC and was able to squeeze 17.5 mpg out of it on cruise at 65 mph on flat roads in Indiana. But overall average mileage running between 70 and 75 mph was 15.5. Pretty happy with that. I also think that if you can deal with running at 60mph you could probably get 18mpg out of it. Only 8000 miles on it so far and very happy with it.
35,000 miles trans fluid gets changed.
at 35k the trans will last forever. at 150k most people no longer even own the vehicle so who cares?
I don't care what the factory "recommends"...I change out my trans fluid every other season, regardless of mileage. I put on less than 10,000 per year, but it's mostly towing (albeit a smaller <6000 lb TT).
With every second fluid change, it gets a new filter.
To be clear though, this isn't a total flush...just drain and refill.
