Last time I looked the Whipple for the 6.2 was around $9,800 not counting install
thats the "full" kit at msrp and thats over priced. they can be had for less. depending on what year truck you have 2015 or newer and the full kit is a waste of money because the provided tunes wont work due to ecu strategy changes. below is a tuner kit, so you would still need fuel injectors and a tune. same site offers deatschwerks 78/lb injectors for 519.00. you can also get 47/lb injectors for 320. to me the 47/lb is not big enough for what i would want. The local shop that tuned my truck as it currently sits charges about 425 as a starting price to tune. and if im going supercharged i want a custom tune not a canned tune. https://www.teamjdm.com/whipple-6-2l...ner-kit-black/
Good as long as you do your maintenance. The 6r140 is rated for the diesels torque so that shouldn't be an issue even with heavy mods. If you live in the rust belt cleaning salt would be needed. I use fluid film on my truck to prevent frame rust. Front suspension joints should be watched because it has a solid axle. To much wear and you could get death wobble.
Hi everyone! So here is an update on my 2012 F350 chassis cab. As of today it has 743,322 miles. More highway miles than stop n go. Still on my 2nd motor so I have about 325,000 miles on it. As far as recent parts/repairs goes...
)rear end axle bearings only... original rear end still doing great( old bearings in good condition but the seals were leaking)
)hood struts
)front sway bar links
) replaced the following parts out of precaution. Tires, battery, drive belt, belt tensioner, alternator, hoses.
Using Motocraft 5w-20 and MC oil filters.
Original tranny. Just periodic fluid/filter changes. It does leak a little. Not on the ground but you can smell it burning the fluid but I just top it off every six months or so
tune ups about every 100,000 miles
Overall I am very happy with this truck. It is very durable.
Ed, I am looking at a 6.2 that has 233k on the motor. I’m wondering what happened to your first motor. I would hate to spend money on this truck and have it crap out on me in another 100k. Judging from what I’m reading on this thread, it should be good to go but it would be nice to know what happened to yours. Thanks!

One thing to think out with a used truck 233K on it is you don't know how it was maintained or driven, Ed has had his from new and I'm sure it was well maintained and being his main tool to make a living I'm sure it wasn't abused, worked hard but not abused.
What is a ballpark cost on the 6.2 engine from Ford and install cost? Just curious.
Thanks
$4200 plus tax for reman motor. I have an account with Ford.
Ford too pricey for install. Find a good local shop near you for install. Maybe $1500 on up.

I agree completely! I am going through this thing with a fine tooth comb, just wanted to make sure the 6.2 was a good motor with a good reputation. It is super clean with all of the maintenance records. The guy drove the hell out of it but took great care of it.

I resemble that remark.
I highly recommend the Banks Pedal Monster. $299
makes the gas pedal more sensitive. It's like driving a Mustang GT. The truck is much faster. No more pedal lag.

check for Blow by by removing the oil filler cap. Turn the motor on and if you feel any air blowing out of the hole it has Blow by. Pass on it. Also the bottom or underneath of the oil filler cap should be clean and dry. No milky residue. Residue May indicate a blown head gasket

by the way I now have about 810,000 miles on the truck
