To give credence to the delayed April order story, my dealer was telling me yesterday he has 4 customers that ordered trucks in April that are still waiting for delivery. It looks like I'll get mine before them. I ordered 9/27.
Rasalas. I hope yours comes soon. If it eases your pain any, you're not the only one.
Rasalas, wasnt looking for you to prove anything, nor did I mean any offense. I said I didnt see how some folks placed orders in april, when my local dealer told me Ford not accepting orders prior to late september. Just wondered how that could be, didnt say I didnt believe you. Makes me wonder bout the dealers though.
I feel for those who have waited since spring, but I wonder if dealership took advantage of you. I tried to order early august and salesman said it would be end of september before Ford would take orders on the 2017 SD. He called me towards end of setember, came in spec"d truck out, and order was submitted on 10/3. I don"t see how you could have ordered in april.
The order bank opened April 15th. Your dealer misinformed you.
Glad to hear other folks are getting delayed....Update from ford customer service yesterday is that the body shop still does not know when my truck will be complete...

I apologize if I misunderstood what you meant. I may be a little touchy about lead times and even worse about dealer statements. I wonder how many across the country have been left behind by Ford's pretzel logic ordering system. And your dealer did you no service by telling you a falsehood as well. Too bad there are so many dealers who have little regard for the truth: that is the basis for a lot of strength among the members here. Anyone who takes the time to read the back posts and study the guide should be able to march into a dealership and be on par with even the best salesman. It is unfortunate that 80% of the auto industry feels it necessary to hoodwink the public. The honest ones much like Frantz are in the minority, but they are out there . I hope you find one. No harm, no foul!

The pages of Ward's Auto are full of stories by consultants telling dealers to quit the BS and treat customers better.
One consultant asked a group of dealers "If the manufacturer gave you $5000, what would you do with it?". The dealers overwhelmingly said "spend it on advertising". No one said that they would spend it on employee training.
One time, they insisted that my flight was going to leave on time. At the time, I was looking out the window at my plane. The mechanics had one of the engines partially disassembled and sitting on the tarmac. This was 30 minutes before departure.
I have certainly flown on American Airlines many times, but have had the fortune of not being in this situation before. Either way, I hate flying commercially...it is a pain in the butt.

I understand your logic here, but I don't feel like it makes sense. How would Ford not know the ETA of the vehicle? I would think it is simple math. I have no idea what the process is, but I am going to make one up that makes sense to me. The spray in bed liner company receives vehicles on a daily basis. They also have a list to go with said vehicles. They already have a list of vehicles that need to be done that are already there. Now, the list simply gets longer, however, there is still an order to the list. The company knows how many vehicles they churn out per day. Let's say 20 to make the math easy. There is a list of 100 vehicles, I am the 100th one. 100 / 20 = 5. My vehicle should be done in 5 days. Adding in a week to deliver it, plus another 2 days of slop, and my ETA should be in 14 days. It really doesn't seem that hard to me. Backed up 1000 vehicles? It could delay my ETA x 10 if I'm the 1000 one. Am I crazy?

Soup **** gave lousy service. Acted like, well, a ****.
But his soup was so good, people went there regardless.
People here say that they hate the service that they are getting from Ford, yet they go back any way.
Must be the soup is that good.
So, back to the discussion of voting with my wallet...I wish it would make a difference, but has already been proven with 1000 vehicles backed up at the bed liner place, my one vote wouldn't make a dent. The demand is simply too high...but thanks for your advice!
You said one voice (acorn) could not make a difference. You never know, you might get a oak tree.

Ford might be able to get a good estimate of your ETA, maybe even within a day or two. But that date might change. So Ford may not want to change, then have to change again. You are mad now. What if they gave you an ETA then moved it back a second time a week later? I bet you would get so mad, you'd wet yourself.

No apology needed, I"m here to learn and share, not **** anyone off. Here"s to us getting our trucks soon, hope you get yours first. Cheers!
Maybe we should add a "Bed Liner" column in the spreadsheet to see if the delay is affecting everyone or not. It seems not, and it seems that the ordering date makes no difference.
