Scott, not sure being here would have helped me being an only child. I'm hoping for one or two degrees cooler wth the deeper pan and more fluid.
You know, if you haven't got the pan installed yet, you could have a shop weld on some cooling fins. As I understand it, if you make them in the shape of the old Caddy rear tail fins, your truck will not only be faster, it will track straighter, and at least "look" cooler
Plus you would earn an honorary spot in the "ridiculous Stacks" thread just for being so dang cool...
Now, that there is a bolt on mod -- you'll need 4 of those for the trans and one for the oil pan. Optionally you can mount one to your FICM for enhanced cooling and glue one to the degas tank, which also will help keep your coolant temps in check.
Ok, as I told a very nice gentleman who sent a message, I enjoyed the thread and all the thread was useful to me.
Now I have another question.
I found this in the bottom of the pan:
So where does it come from, how do I get it back where it belongs, and if I can't find where it goes and replace it, can I pull a load safely and get where I'm going?

and:
Ya, this fins worked pretty well. Never had my YZ400 or YZ465 Yamaha's ever overheat and seize a piston while desert racing at some pretty warm temps.
They work well as long as your moving, hence the reason here in CA motorcycles can drive between cars. Now, most bikes are water cooled but not back in the day. Still many on the road.

Kinda looks like a clip that wraps over a stationary position to hold a wiring harness in place? Just a guess but will be interesting to see the correct answer.

Mark Kovalsky
Where are you?
You know having pulled a 5R110W all the way down that part does not look familiar.
