I'll just keep loving on this old girl while I wait. :-)
Nice looking ride. Nice to see the early SuperDuties looking so good. Once I get past the rust I still love my '01. There is a quiet beauty in the soft swept lines which I will always treasure.
Agree with you, definitely not true without pictures, and lucky on the build date/priority. drove through two dealers yesterday as neither had a 17 here in NC.

For advanced planning purposes, below is a tentative schedule of production weekends for the remainder of the 3rd quarter. As we get closer to the dates in question, we will send out another bulletin confirming the upcoming production shifts.
++++++
The following mandatory overtime production shifts have been planned to meet the demand for our very popular products. All of the vehicles we will be building for the remainder of this quarter are sold units that our customers are waiting for.
Be advised that in addition to these extra shifts, we will continue to draw down our inventory during the week and on the weekends by performing the necessary quality checks to insure we are providing our customers with the level of quality that we are known for.
***12-hour shifts***
Saturday, August 20th: B-Crew 6:00pm *scheduled*
Sunday, August 28th: A-Crew 6:00am
Saturday, September 10th: B-Crew 6: 00pm
Sunday, September 18th: A-Crew 6:00am
Saturday, September 24th: B-Crew 6:00pm
Additionally, the following has been scheduled as a voluntary holiday production day.
***12-hour shift***
Monday, September 5th: C-Crew (lead)*** 6:00am
***C-crew’s start time for Sunday prior to Labor Day (September 4th) will be moved to 6:00am.
This is a bummer if they are doing retail first. I have a build date on week of Sept 5th, so hopefully mine doesn't get delayed. maybe the overtime shifts are focusing on the Customer Ordered trucks (retail)?
Hey newbie here. Thought I'd share that my dealer just said my truck was built yesterday with an eta of 8/29 to Maryland, can't wait.
It's a 6.7 longbed club Lariot

Shifting to retail is EXCELLENT news. That's the way it should have been from the get go. People with cash in hand to buy a truck should be top priority. Just because some dealers cheat the system and put a retail order under stock doesn't mean they should get higher priority. Kudos to Ford if they're moving to the retail orders.

I don't disagree with that. Ford should have done this before production. Dealers were going by past experience. I haven't heard otherwise whether mine build date has changed or not. We will see. I emailed my dealer to find out. Im guessing it wont change since the date has already been projected. Retail orders from here on out will probably get higher priority. I could be wrong tho.
That's a total laugh. You seriously think most retail customers aren't financing this purchase?
Financing = cash in hand.
Once Ford gets the cash, it doesn't matter if it came from the buyer's pocket or the bank. Even better, buyer finances through Ford credit and Ford gets to make interest on the purchase too!

Financing through Ford Credit isn't really cash in Ford's hand. Its just another longer term money-making operation for FoMoCo.
To me, there is a big difference between "cash in hand" and a financing buyer. But I understand what you and AK are saying.

Dealer called this time. Truck is to be built September 2. I ran the serial through the Ford decoder and it says it is an XL. I hope not. Not even sure you can get an XL F450.
