Chat just gave me a vin for my Order. problem is the vin is for an Explorer not a Superduty. Apperently there are 2 vehicles ordered with the same order number from the same dealer trying to find out why. Chat said the dealer sent into orders at the same time and somehow was assigned the same order Number, I need to also tell them it is a 2017 Superduty when I talk to them.
Ford did tell me late fall so most of us could be breaking down soon to . I believe the guys that ordered first should get there trucks first but there's something going on that no body knows. Some truck have holds on them for some reason. That's what my friend is telling me. The question is have you lived a good life lol

I went through the same thing!
Dealer gave me an incorrect order number from my order placed April 29th. I was excited to find my VIN early on and kept tracking. Finally the truck showed built and a window sticker popped up, problem was it as a King Ranch when I ordered a Platinum.
Contacted me dealer and they gave me what they are now saying is the correct order number and I am back to square one, no VIN, no ETa.... Only in processing. Fortunately I was able to verify order details with this new order number with Ford Chat and it matches what I ordered.
Rob - as far I can tell we are in similar boats. I ordered in late April. Yes I have a VIN, but that does absolutely nothing for me. I have had 5 build dates now, they are all total crap and seem more like something my dealer is making up to keep me at bay.
Nothing in COTUS, No Window Sticker, nothing in ETIS.
So I don't feel like I am any better off that's for sure. Feel your pain.

I have a good life by my judgement. Maybe some others might not agree, but I think it has been good. I did buy 1 Chivrolet back in 1967 - a '65 Corvette Coupe. But I think my 8 Fords since then have forgiven that original sin. LOL
Just talked with chat and have some more info. Build day was 8/17, ETIS build day 8/24. Chat informed me the truck was in transit with ETA 9/10. The only item I did not order was adaptive cruise. The truck has all the other items that have been discussed as a possible delay item.
Lariat 350, 6.7, CCLB 4x4 Ultimate package and Tow tech bundle, LED Headlights.

I believe you I was just playing around on that . It seems the mood was pretty low . My friend did say some trucks have holds on them for some reason he wasn't sure of . They swear these guys to secery for sure I've know this guy from 30 years

No problem.. I had just gotten off phone with sales girl and chat and found no progress. Cancelled trip scheduled for Lake Tahoe 3rd wk Sept. which I knew from 4 mos ago would be iffy but new truck would make it a great run out and back. Oh well, the calendar is full of one more week(s).
So the dealer gave me a vin and build date of 9-8. Ford chat says all they show for the vin is "order in processing" does this mean the dealer made up a phony build date?
