Regardless of how ordered we all want OKTB and Okay to ship to dealers.

Good news for me: the Ford rep I've been working with to get my order correct has come through. My order is all fixed, I have a VIN, and she says the tentative build date is 8/8/16. Whoohoo!

Well I live in Eastern Iowa, and when I bought my 2015 F350 dually I found it in Sioux Falls S.D. and bought it there. I promised the local dealer where I service that the next time I ordered a truck I would give him and the Sioux Falls dealer an equal chance at my order. I think locally he wanted the deal pretty bad and I told him I would be driving the '15 to several long distance horse shows this summer(Rochester New York in early August) and that I would be putting miles on it but he gave me a firm price in writing of $47 k against dealer invoice whereas Sioux Falls was more nebulous between $42-45 k depending on miles but against 1500 below dealer invoice. So obviously I went with the local dealer but as I rack up the miles lately(Kentucky two weeks ago, Kentucky next week, Milwaukee last weekend, New York and daily driving I am feeling a bit guilty about the deal frankly but then my conscience shuts up and I say a deal is a deal and they are supposed to be the experts at this business. Both dealers do large volumes of trucks so I suspect they will be just fine.

I don't think so. My dealer on their own changed the order from stock to retail. They think it will be picked up faster this way. I'm not sure if it will as retail has to wait after the OK to buy date.

Shouldn't be much longer and we will all find out.. If its anything like the 11' rollout we should have our stock trucks much faster.

I made that mistake in 11' and eventually found the exact same truck on a lot in Tx and flew out and drove it home and a month 1/2 later the truck I ordered showed up.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered within the first week after you could order and still have no updates. Unfortunately I have now added engine block heater and and debating cab lights, so I think there is a plan to have it wait, so that you add things. I don't need either where I live but go for 75, why bother not having it.

I did not know that. I guess this is encouraging news. Thanks Troverman.

You have a good rep. It sounds like a couple of extra strings were pulled to get your order date. Congratulations.

That's what I think, although she did not mention it. With the news we heard the other day of orders just starting to be built in August instead of July, I was very surprised to have an early August build date.

My conclusion is that when they re-did the order (I have a new order number too) they may have changed me to a dealer order in order to speed it up; or the info about orders not being built until August is not accurate.

I was really hoping for 1st week in September for delivery. Even with a build date the second week in August, delivery could be 2 months beyond that.

It would be interesting if you could get your build sheet to see the priority on the new one.

I'm 500 miles away from an oil change - I'll try to get a copy then.

On a side note, as the oil in the engine approaches the time to change, I swear the fuel economy drops significantly.

I have not noticed that effect on my 7.3L but it does seem to produce more valve train noise but because it comes up gradually it is more that new oil produces less noise. As far as the mileage it might have to do with the injectors not firing as smartly since the most harm done to these engines with dirty oil is in the high pressure system which supports the operation of the fuel injectors. I have always run synthetic or sometimes synthetic blend (when serviced at Valvoline) and changed oil at 10,000 miles. Easy to remember every time the odometer reads 4 zeros. Ford recommended 6K miles and synthetic says 15,000 - 25,000 (some synthetic protocols include filter change in the middle of the cycle). I like the Rotella T-6 since Auto Zone has it on sale a couple of times a year in 5 gallon pails and its' purported performance. 5W-40 in the winter and 15W-40 for the summer. This is Shell blowing their own horn if interested.
