Ordered 4/19 at 14:41. Maybe the build order will come today, but I have always thought September or so before delivery so it doesn't really matter (so I tell myself) as long as it gets built and delivered within the next few months......keep repeating, it doesn't really matter......
I'm not having any luck either yet but my current dealer is keeping me updated and is an enthusiast like we are and enjoys it.
The dealer that I've tried to use in the past, makes me feel like I'm asking them to go "out of there way" just to get me an update..
I call on Fridays to wish her a good weekend and oh by the way did you hear anything, I hate to bother you, oh don't worry that is what I am here for. And she is right, that is part of the salesman's job. If my dealer treated me like I was a bother I would be greatly tempted to take my $65K purchase elsewhere where they welcomed my calls and did all they could to earn my business and treated me like I am the whole reason they have a business.

I get that a little bit. My guy is not blatantly put out, but you can kind of feel the tension. I guess after many years in the business with many new product launches come and gone, he is nowhere near as excited as I am about this.
My salesman emailed me a couple days ago out of the blue to tell me he talked to the regional rep and that I don't have a VIN yet, but should have one next week. He's told me a number of times how excited he is for the new 2017 Super Duty and that he wants to take a ride in mine with me when it gets in.

Saleslady and store manager said the same thing here. There is a lot of hype about these new trucks and I think the dealerships feel it as well. They were really happy to have a well appointed vehicle be their first order, although the stock trucks will be pretty nice too. My wife was supposed to retire in the spring but she may put it off till the end of May next year. Planned a trip to AK with the camper but I wanted to be on the road by beginning of May to get there by June for 2 months before starting back home. I guess we'll see how it works out but I am sure the truck will be set and ready to go, especially if I get a VIN number. I've wanted to make this trip for 30 years without having to rush to get back home.

That is my dream trip! I hope to do it someday (in 15-20 years).
Have not planned the entire trip yet. I would like to get up to the North Slope. A trip on the AK Railway, a flight out the Aleutians, Denali of course and lots of points in between. A couple of good fishing trips too. I see three major routes. One is the Alcan, the Stewart-Cassiar Hwy and the ferry. Probably drive one of the 2 hwys north then take the ferry back to Vancouver. Any suggestions are welcome. Have started a spread sheet with interesting sights all around the US, BC and AK. As time gets closer will pay more attention to getting them in order. And BLM land and WalMart. Not every night but many. $40 and $50 a night for campgrounds adds up after a while. Thanks for asking.
Go build and price a truck. When you see the "Chat with a representative" button click it. You can ask them to check your status for you, which they will more than happily do

Several elder family members kept us home for years. Don't wait too long, if you see your chance go for it. And then go back again in 15-20 years. People used to do it in 6 year old station wagons and a back full of kids. We've got modern super trucks and campers and luxury so get out there and enjoy while you are younger and can do more!

Little things like work, small kids, money, etc. are keeping us from it for now. We are venturing out more, and hope to go West (Colorado) next summer. The long trip to AK is just going to have to wait for a while because I want to do it right. I don't want to be rushed at all.
Today's update....
Stopped in to dealer and truck is on the list waiting to be picked up for a build. Dealer has three super duty allotments and he has my order and two stock trucks listed. My truck is a priority 20 stock and should be selected first of the three and we are all hoping it will be soon. The truck was initially not compatible and and we had to add twin HD alternators to make the computer happy. This did not change the price and the only item on my list that references this is the upfitter switches.
