Found this but I think the dates have already been discussed:

2017 F-450 order

I ordered a 450 KR with every option. What is nice is that you can now get a KR with everything a Platimun has except illuminated scuff plates! Mine is 85,355 MSRP and A plan brings it to 76,580. Trading in my 15 F-350 KR SRW. Luckily they have a buyer for mine so it is sold for 53,000 minus the payments I make until delivery so it should have about 50,000 miles on it and have a sell of about 48,500.

Ordered 5/23 and looks like September or October delivery as retail is set for July 11 build start and all July allocations are gone. Unscheduled/clean for now and hoping for an August/September build. Only have the first few VIN numbers.

One note is that if you order the ultimate trailer tow package it does come with all the cameras and the TPMS package comes with the customer placed camera.

That is important because I originally only added the camera because the TPMS was like 725 and that seemed like a big step just for tire monitoring. Then we added it since I was already hip deep and it kicked out the camera and only added 300 something and showed the camera as part of the TPMS package.

Just a few of the things I found out. I also ordered for the first time, Heavy service suspension. A little concerned about that but I want this as my ultimate tow rig so I thought bigger is better.

Anyone have experience good or bad with ordering the heavy service front suspension package versus the snow plow package?

Both say they just add an additional front spring but there was this additional warning saying it will raise ride height and could impact ride quality. But how much could it really change a 450? It should ride like a rock anyway unloaded.

It is my understanding that snowplow and camper prep add the most to the front springs. I remember reading that heavy service front suspension is for 200 lb increase for the huge deer guard bumpers or winches. Sounds like a really nice truck.

Any of you getting your build dates care to share the priority on your orders? That would be an interesting comparison. Thanks.

Personally, with Ford saying to order the heavier front springs only if you normally run a heavy accessory, I'd listen. A correct front spring has the truck ride in the middle of the suspension travel for maximum range. Too stiff and you ride towards the top of the travel with reduced distance the wheel can travel down.

There is no order direct to Ford. All orders must go through a dealer. The salesperson should be able to help you with all the steps required to place your order, but only a dealer can order direct to Ford.

On 6/3/2016 I got an e-mail from my dealer saying my 2017 F-450DRW Diesel Shadow Black/Camel was assigned a VIN number (ending in 17760). He did not have a build date yet.

Super excited!

Cool...I'm excited just hearing about the VINs. What priority was yours 1965?? I called my sales guy but he was out for the day...should get back to me on Monday to see if I have any updates. Can't wait to see some of these 450s being ordered even though I only got a 250!!

I wonder if I chose a dealer that is low volume and that's why the order was not picked up

Should I look for another dealer and place another order or maybe wait till they hit the dealerships and look for an unsold F450 platinum.

What do you guys think?

My dealer was allocated two early build trucks. They let me order one of them. My dealer has ordered 7 trucks, but only mine and one of theirs got vins so far. You can ask your dealer if any of their orders got a vin yet, but cancelling your order and going elsewhere at this point won't likely speed anything up. Ask your dealer if they were allocated any early trucks.
