My order is "in processing" but no VIN as of yesterday. Ford rep also could not verify the changes I had my dealer make (switch to a Dually and then a diesel).
I wish I could just get a VIN and a production date.
September 1 would be an ideal day for delivery to me. Anybody with a priority 10 get a July build date?
I have a priority 10 and as of Thursday the status changed from "in processing" to "cleared, not scheduled". I take this as a positive step. After reading some of the input about early production vehicles maybe requiring rework if assembly problems are detected I am happier with the "10" than the "20". A little wait maybe but a little better comfort level with the production.
I'll do some more checking tomorrow. Maybe by this Thursday a VIN will be issued for us.
Even the early production units will be held for a while before shipping. The true experience will come after the "OK to Ship" date. For me it is probably rail to Buffalo then 75 miles east by auto transport. I have heard of vehicles getting "lost in the shuffle" at the rail yard. Too bad there isn't an option for FOB Louisville.

Mine is a priority 20 and it's still in processing
There seems to be a great concern with the priority # that our orders have been assigned. Rasalas provided an excellent link back in post #77 of this thread that explains how this number is not relevant. One dealer may choose to use priority 10 as it's highest urgency. Another dealer may use 20, or 50, or even 80 as it's highest priority. Ford only uses that number to prioritize orders for an individual dealer. A dealer that chooses to use #10 as it's highest priority is not assured that it's order will be selected ahead of a dealer that uses a #50 or even a #80. A lot of other factors (and some luck) go into the order that our trucks get built. Read the section on Priorities in the link at post #77
It's just a guess, but I think that 450 production is being rationed because of a controlled commodity. It could be the wide front end, the heavier rear axle, who knows, but it seems that Ford has known for some time that it would not be able to meet initial demand. This has been on the Donlen site for months now: Ford Trucks (Production Updates) - Donlen Corporation
Even if your dealer had allocation for this truck it was a lottery if you were lucky enough to get an early 450. Once the initial commodities get used up it will be a wait in line as the required pieces trickle in. Remember the front and rear ends are the same pieces used in the CC and that production has been up and running for a while now. Huge national fleets are no different than us, when they see a new product coming they delay purchasing until the new models arrive and that initial surge in demand takes a few months to settle back down.
I have watched this site for information and I believe their indication of delay, at this point includes the initial startup period between first order and first production. For the 250/350 the 12-14 weeks falls right into the initial scheduling. If that number rises, such as it appears to have done for the 450/550 then it would seem parts allocations are coming into play. Or it could simply be demand for that whole series, as you stated, which is a good thing for the industry but not so hot for the buyer.
OK, Finally got your build date, after chasing through some other screens found your build date is 07/25/16.
I had to trick the System as Ford for a number of years will not build Fleet or Retail Units first only Stock Units so your Body Code is the same, W4D but the Order# is 9113 not 9112
Well guys we are going to have some fun soon, alot of us have build dates on the same day..
Going to fun tracking them from the plant to the dealer.
I have a few friends within' the "rail system" that may be able to help once my truck leaves the plant so they say.
My order number is 6004. No build date yet. No VIN yet. Waited 12 years for a new truck, I think I can wait a few more months for this:
Nice looking truck. But only 12 years? I bought my current truck in March of '01, an '01 with 18K miles. Now over 235K. Been a great truck and I still love it. But the rust is creeping upward like an unstoppable virus consuming everything in it's path. I can wait a couple of months but having waited so long seems to have brought an urgency for the new. No smell of slight diesel leaks on the fuel pump, no rust dropping on the ground when shutting the doors, no puffing from the muffler seam separating, no worry that the PCM and the ECU and the BCM will go berserk after the next rain storm and talk each other into randomly altering electrical behavior. And then the anticipation of all the modern goodies, many not even dreamed of when the '01 was conceived. I like the simple, yes. I'll love the new technology, probably even more.
