Woke up from what? Your nap. Is it even 48 out there right now? It was still pretty chilly at lunch.
Marty, I sure hope your back cooperates for the spring fling.
Thermometer outside tracks the coldest temp in a 24 hour period, it said 29. Dang it, I just put the tomatoes and the peppers in at the weeekend. I hope they survive.
29* won't kill the plants, however the frost will. Cover them with bed sheets and they will be fine. You can also lightly spray with water(once temp is at 32*)that will freeze and protect the plant from frost. Do not cover with plastic!
Even though the cheese won't quite be cured I'll make sure to bring some and let you guys try it out. It won't be optimal but you'll get the idea. You'll be hooked! Smoked cheese and cold beer...ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Ordered 5 online. Neatly stacked on a flat when I got there. I've got 14 bags stacked in the basement now. I'll see what's left when the end of summer sale is going on an replenish for winter.

Sweet!
I have four bundles in the shed right now, and will snag 5 more bundles today or tomorrow. Then maybe one more run of 5 for that price. That will give me 14 bundles. This last year I believe we went through 8 or 10.
Making progress, or at least I think I am. I did get me a sleeping bag I think/hope will keep me warm this next weekend. And I've two of my coolers dug out, along with a few other things.

Swung by lowes to pickup a chainsaw finally today. Went to get the poulan 38cc with 16" blade but they were sold out. So decided on the 42cc with 18" blade. Got it for lower than the price of the small one though! I found it onlime for sale cheaper, and lowes has a price match plus 10%. It was $169.99 but I ended up getting it for $135.
So I came home and put it to work, ended up firing up the old burn barrel getting a good hit fire going and chunk IMG fresh cut stuff in it.
Oh also picked me up a bundle while I was in lowes also.

i know a few with that same saw... they all say they love it...
btw.. Home depot has the same charcoal package for $2 cheaper than lowes does right now
I have a poulan, it's my favorite saw. Though I swapped out the 18 in bar for a 16 in for a few years. Man would that cut. I put an 18 back on it, though, Needed the length. I have a McCullogh and a Stihl, but neither cut like that Poulan. Though I will admit the oiler on it is not the best.
I might suggest on your burn barrel, some additional ventilation holes higher up, something the size of say.. 9mm or so. But that's just a suggestion.. Also, if you are like me, then it doesn't burn fast enough. I find a few bricks under neath, with a few holes at the bottom.. and a little bit of forced air induction helps... I use an electric leaf blower... but I think a gas one would work just as well. But start with it sitting a little far away, till you get to know what it does. I'm not talking from experience though...
Oh and that chain saw isn't sitting on a 97+ tailgate, that looks like something newer..
I'm making slow progress. I need a bigger SUV.
Marty, I think you are out of luck there. I can not think of a bigger SUV off the top of my head, than the one you currently own.

The saw cut great and sliced the couple 6" trees like butter.
As far as charcoal, lowes is less than 10 miles from the house, home depot is about 30 miles so it was cheaper to just grab it at lowes. Plus I was already in Lowes grabbing the saw.

Yea I wasn't spending the extra $150-200 to get a saw of similar size in a Husqvarna or stihl, plus I wasn't impressed with the last stihl we had since the craftsman would cut circles around it. I got it for $135 plus tax, it came with a case, extra chain, and a 2 year warranty.
I was only using the barrel cause I had some trash already in it and got it good and hot, then tossed the smaller limbs in it instead of keeping making trips to the burn piles for tiny limbs. I've used the electric leaf blower trick before and it can be a bit fun haha. I do need to put 3 or 4 more holes up about halfway of the barrel, I just did the others quick one day to be able to use it.
The truck is my company work truck, it's a '11 f150. When I do work at camp lejeune/new river on a Friday, or on a Monday I bring the company truck home for the weekend. I live roughly halfway between cherry point and new river so it don't make sense to drive all the way to cherry point to turn around and drive the little over a hour back to new river.
