Still in the truck, I'm saving it tho, you never know when I will need parts for maybe another OBS.........?
Haha yeah I know how that is.
I've gotten everything off my old block that I'm going to reuse and now have it sitting on saw horses. I already have a plan for this motor, but it requires a rebuild first. I've saved up a bunch of spare parts now though I may have to sift through what I need and what I can get rid of.
Even though I plan on having this motor in the camaro eventually, if when I tear it apart I find that something "simple" was causing my fluid mixing, I'm almost tempted to buy an F-150 or something really cheap, and throw this motor in it! I'll then need another motor for later down the road.
I'm sure pulling your motor in the truck shouldn't be too bad since you have tons of stuff off of it now as well. Are you going to use the head bolts to attach a chain to the block to pull it out?
Lol... our lingo has become something, you should hear our lingo in Spanis, like "ehh guey" in every sentence when you are referring to the person your talking too lol...
I'll post more pics as I start putting it together, still got to remove the Mules engine so I can reuse the front cover and the miscelenaious stuff that are different than the obs.
I've read a few articles on the comp springs 910-16 but nothing concrete on shimming? Any input would be great. I'm starting a new thread to get more attention in just a few.
Dude please tell me that you wrapped that engine up before driving home. Engines need to be surgical clean, I would never set it down on the flatbed like that either...
Oh ok, scared me for a second! ... My friend just assembled his first engine (roller 351) and he's been grinding and welding near by with the engine unwrapped. Didn't even sweep the floor when he was assembling it. I had to word him up several times during his "build". We'll see how long that engine lasts haha.
