It's not bad with the core support gone. I left my turbo on. We even pulled it with the ZF attached. That was real tight though. I don't think we could have pulled that all together with just a cherry picker.
I believe I've seen pictures where guys have pulled the cab off. Seems like a lot more work but you would have clear access to everything, including frame and suspension if you wanted to also do any work there. I've never done it and I'm not recommending it, just mentioning that I have seen pictures where they pulled the cab to get to the motor.

No reason to pull the cab if you're only pulling the engine.
Now if you need to do rust repair/maintenance/preventive stuff, then by all means.
My friend pulled his engine with turbo still on and with the E4OD and TC still bolted up. So with the core support removed its possible. Honestly though with your turbo set up, I'd just pull it to make things easier.
After much debate and thinking I said fak it! I'm doing head gaskets. Work schedule is insane, we're busy as fak and there's no time to be messing around with the rebuild just yet and I MISS MY TRUCK!!!!! But the good news is that it would be for the best intention as plans for more goodies will be added to the "to do list" with the thumbs up from the old lady so I'm set.
Added. Items are as follows:
910 comp springs
Smith bro's push rods
E-fuel
And maybe and thats a big maybe a t-4 set up
Head gasket work not counting machine shop 8hrs or less with no more than $300 on parts and machine work
Rebuild time consuming and expensive.
And we will get see the inside of an 800K 7.3 updates soon.

Lol! Are you tired of working on your truck and ready to watch someone else for a change? I know I was by the time I got done with the clutch, efuel, and injectors, but that feeling doesn't last very long!
