I think I forgot to mention when ever the two small wires are connected together I don't get the clicking noise from the IDM relay, and truck starts and runs like normal.
Update success, apparently my IDM relay and horn relay were both bad, stupid, stupid stupid, can't believe something so simple to check got overlooked. No more clicking, starts easy, I'll update when I test drive her right now it looks like this
Well took of passenger side valve cover to inspect where the knock was coming from and everything was nice and tight, no loose injectors, or anything out of the ordinary. Took off rocker arms to check out the push rods and straight as they come. One thing I did notice was that all of the exhaust valve springs were really soft, what I mean is I could push them with my thumb with minor effort compared to the intake? I verify with my rebuilt heads and those suckers were hard as hell to push down, had to use my whole palm to push them down I think I found my problem worn out valves, valve seats and worn out springs but the noise is defiantly a rod knock maybe a spun bearing
I keep driving her but not as much, the knocks annoying and don't want to risk of leaving me stranded.
Here's a pic of the removed valve cover
Wish I could of taken more pics but got to focused on finishing quick it was raining today. Also removed glow plugs to see if any of them might broken of and fallen into the cylinder.but all were great.
Still gathering funds for the rebuild.
Always like pictures. Yes both sets of springs, intake and exhaust should be the same. Did you listen by the pan to see if it's louder? Springs can be changed.
The sound is defiantly coming from cylinder #5 and yes it's more pronounced on the bottom end. This engine is going out and another one I have is going in so ehhh I won't invest on it no more, but when I do take it out I'm going to dissect it to see what 800k+ engine looks like and to find out what caused the knock.
I had nothing to do so I put the big ugly wheels on the Mule just for the hell of it and here's how she looks
I hate the wheels but I love the stance, I like the width of the tire and how if fits the wheel well real good. If only Alcoa's made something that wide with a 16-17" wheel with the design of the stockers. I believe the its a 12.5" wheel. I know there are wheel options that resemble the stock wheels , but they all have the exposed lug nuts and I hate those kind of wheels, I like the sleak look of the stockers with the hub caps.
MASSIVE BOOST LEAK!!! I took the liberty of pressurizing my intake system and holy cow both plenums start to loose pressure at just 5 lbs you can actually see where the sealant blew out. I don't know if I should throw the towel or continue messing with it,...... what to do... what to do. The dam thing won't die its knocking like hell but keeps chugging along, its easy enough to remove the plenums and reseal them. Still low on funds for the engine rebuild (higher priorities at the moment) but need my truck. I'll probably seal them wish me luck fellas.
