Wow good work Adam! I would like to do the same thing! My engine is still doing OK so I will keep it going. What's the word on the one you pulled? Cracked head?
OK just got here to Abelene TX. And the Mule did great, no oil usage lots of power.
Bubba I had spare IPR's laying around and this one looked almost new.
pg00 yeah feels great man she lives and I still have that big grin on my face.
Nate I still haven't looked at the other head will post when I do for the meantime I'm enjoying the Mule run.
The idle is great Byron, I just have to get the RR regulated return, I got the infamous #8 cackel. Over all this thing is a blast to drive and also the 66mm turbo is great, can wait to start giving it some right foot lol...
To anyone that thinks or wants to Superfy their OBS I highly recommended, unless you do E-fuel which is better, but if you have all the parts go for it.
Thanks fellas. She's doing great so far. Oil consumption is at zero as well as blow by fumes. Im Changing the oil soon and start giving her a hit more throttle with the heavy tow tune.
Went back to El Paso last Friday due to my uncle passing away. Did the first oil change and looked great no metal shavings filter cut open looked clean but only took out 3 gallons of oil? The dipstick gauge was to the full mark but then I remembered I installed the oil dip stick that came with the junk yard engine I installed on one of the work trucks I put the my oil dipstick and took 3.75 gallons to fill. Returned back to Snyder TX and the truck keeps surprising me, MPG is starting to go up I managed 16.5 doing 80 not bad, engine sounds great I still have to get the firewall smashed more so that the down pipe won't rub when turning.
Oh I almost forgot I was 3 qts low on tranny fluid I totally forgot to fill it up when I did the first start video so the gears were kind of slamming in whoops....... filled it right back and all is good soon I'll start putting some WOT runs just to see how it will perform. I need to tune my chip again I'm getting black smoke on the heavy tow tune if I'm bellow 2000 rpm, which I never did with my old turbo, I checked for exhaust leaks but have none, I havent check for boost leaks tho, but will as soon as I get a chance.
I'm also going to get my ODO set to zero miles when I get a chance to go to Juarez Mexico, my ODO went back to 300K miles again lol.....
I know it's in this thread but I dont have time to read 55 pages. What does it take to switch to late 99+ so that I can use the bellowed up pipes and install the IC? Is there a list?
Driver side manifold, up pipes, late 99 pedestal and turbo, fab up some IC pipes or use the super duty ones and extend them to fit, intake spider and 3"plenums, down pipe flange and IC boots that's about it lol.... i had most of this stuff laying around if you ain't got all this stuff it's not worth spending all your money, just go with what you have and do a T4 set up.
Edit:
I have a 6.0 IC and had to to put a "C" channel on the frame to space out the sway bar down
