The engine I removed it from was dusted and the piston rings were broken and there was chunks of piston missing on that cylinder, took the turbo exhaust turbine with it as well.
Dang... yeah I remember reading it was dusted but that's some damage that was done there.
Well I'm getting somewhere an hour and half I accomplished the turbo removal, radiator, wiring, tranny to engine bolts, drain oil, etc. Freaking fly's won't let me work man I put bug spray on me and they were more attracted so I had CTO hang the towel for this evening.
Here's some pics
Ah forgot to add this picture, drained 5 gallons of oily water, as crazy as it sounds it actually mixed enough that all this time it's been sitting the water never separated???

I decided I'm converting to the late 99+ super duty set up, I just got a present on Friday which will compliment the engine bay really nice. D66 with 1.00 exhaust compressor housing.
I saw you said you can't use your t500 with the super duty setup, are you modifying another pump to use for that or are you going with a stock super duty pump? Just wondering, why won't your old pump work on the super duty covet, it's not a 95 or older one is it?
Yeah that's why I ended up getting the t500 for my motor. I have a new HPOP on my last motor but it's a 95, so I decided to just upgrade the 96 one that came off my current motor.
So how long are you thinking it'll be before the mule is back on the road?
Did some progress with the engine, put heads on, installed lifters, cleaned and painted the engine.
I'm going to get the boot for what I did in color, but meh!
Let the flaming begin lol......
Dam there's no picture of the front timing cover, I'll post some on Monday starting to look complete now,
I was worried about paint and the turbo o-ring seals and front cover etc on mine, but I see you painted right over them. I suppose it probably won't be an issue then if paint in where the turbo o-rings and front cover seal would go is it?
I wanted to be extra cautious after what happened with my first motor so I took a little longer than normal to mask and clean things up.
Yours looks good though! I think hot pink would have been a little better though. (okay I'm joking!)
