I am sure the answer is somewhere on the forum, but a quick search did not reveal much.
What is the max tire size we can run on the rear without a rubbing issue?
Thanks,
Skip
Skip I can't tell you what the max width is, but I can tell you that you need to maintain a pretty good air gap between the tires as well because otherwise the sidewalls can overheat. Well, that's what the trucking company taught me when I was a youngster changing those huge split-rim b@$tards for $5 an hour... We had different rim offsets and I did not realize that the inners were a different rim from the outers and we had a tire blow due to overheating. I knew that they could not touch and needed to have a gap but I did not know how much of a gap.
Something to think about anyway... That was 45 years ago and things may have changed since then...
I just realized that I said that was 45 years ago.... I think I wanna puke.....
GREAT looking 450. I went to order one but found out the 450 did not have the payload capacity the 350 did...I was disappointed, was hoping for the 450 in the barn.
I have the upgraded version, a piece of carpet from when I swapped it all out for hardwood. When it gets dirty it goes to the curb and I cut off another piece

I'm getting excited here, not to take the attention away from all the nice photos. But, my Rancho 9000 shocks are due in tomorrow. So time to get the tools sorted out, the beer cooled down and my best auto creeper out (aka: a good sized piece of cardboard).
Final cost after rebate will be, $232.85 delivered after Rancho rebate and discount coupon at RockAuto.com
I thought I was the only one still using the antique creeper. I think it's the cold beer that helps keep these creepers in use, lol.

I'm glad to see that you and I have the exact same taste in truck and color. Love it, that's a beauty. If you guys find out how big we can safely go with tires, please post it. I would like to go a little bigger as long as it doesn't compromise towing, safety, etc..
