Yes Mom did it best . She hunted deer with a 410 . Squirrel and rabbit with a 22 . She taught me almost as much as Pop did . She taught me how to cook and clean wild game when dad was away with the railroad . He worked for L&N when he retired .
I've always been fascinated with trains and big trucks. Love watching you tube videos of trains. My lady got me a DVD collection of trains. It even has the big boy on it.
I loved riding on an old steam engine . Not like the Amtrack trains of today !
A tunnel was a fun thing to me , Light , whistle , dark ! click clack ..... daylight !
something to remember ....
There used to be a model train sim on computer called "TRAINZ" from Australia. I heard there was a download available for XBOX 360 of a model railroad that was pretty good.
I wonder why we don't see more train sims for that? Something about trains and railroads is really cool
I wish I had ridden more trains, there is something wonderful about it.
I hear them go by in the night sometimes, and wonder where they are going and what it is like....
To sit in one of them, and watch the country go by, like a dream you are having
You see them sometimes when you are stuck at a crossing and the guards go down, but wonder all the same......
If you are in a hurry you may get annoyed, but if you have kids with you you see their excitement....
Talking about trains .. Dollywood had a train running at one time , Anyone know if it is still going ? I rode it years ago . That was around the time Opryland shut down .
My boy was obsessed with Thomas the train win he was younger. I loved it! We took the kids and rode on a full size Thomas in Nashville. The cars were air conditioned. Went down the track a little ways and backed up back to the station. We went to Gatlinburg one year and drove over to North Carolina and took a ride on Thomas. It was nice. Open cars and a longer ride. Went over a tall bridge over a river. I got a model train for CHRISTmas. It even smokes!
