I still have some in spots , but mostly Mud ...
Got the log splitter started . It would not run last week because of the cold and the hydro oil being so thick . Guess I will split some wood today .
I couldn't even get to my wood yesterday. The rain washed the slush and snow off of the ice and since it's sloped, I couldn't get it. Tried busting some of the ice but it is still solid up here on my hill.
Well, it started raining here Friday night, we lost power about 3:30 Saturday, down now for about 35 hrs and from the looks of things we will be without power for another 2-3 days. I made a run to town today, 20 miles...and saw at least 100 power poles and more than 1000 trees down on the way. Between the county, state, power crews and the neighbors we have about an 8' wide path for those 20 miles to town.
Well just to give you folks an idea of what we have been puttin up with, we lost power, according to the power company at 2:38am Saturday and woke up that morning to this...
Then when I headed to town Sunday morning for more gas...
Looks like the power will be out till at least Thursday. Loaded up the family and and got a room in Cookeville (50 miles west) it will be heat, hot showers, hot meals and internet tonight.
Dang, Joe, that don't look good at all.. Sorry to hear it is so bad there... I hope things get back to normal soon!!!
I wonder what it is about Crossville, the weather reports always say you are 10° to 15° colder there than it is here in Cleveland, the elevation is only about 1000 feet higher on average.. I know it is cooler the higher you go but I wouldn't think it would make that much difference... Did you guys **** off the weather gods there or something?
Yes, it's strange how many times there has been snow and Ice predicted for East TN and soon as the weather drops off the plateau it turns to rain or just drys up..
