Sorry to hear about your loss. May the memories bring you smiles when the sting of the pain eases.

I'm up, and doing. I have no words about that, just that it is still too fresh. There is an anger I feel vaguely, but at what? God? Life itself? And why, did I not know the rules and eventual outcomes?

Stupid...

The day had to come and it has. It is necessary to carry on, brutal as that may seem.

Well guys, I'm back! 8 days without power, finally got that restored late on Saturday Feb 28th, and our phone and internet was restored just before 4pm today after being out for 13 days. We had another mini ice storm overnight last night, but the only damage was a bit more to some of the pine trees damaged 2 weeks ago. It has been quite an experience but we are all safe and healthy and that is what is important. Thanks to all of you for your concerns and well wishes.

Happy to hear you got things back to normal !
A bit of ice , snow sleet mix has shut down most of my town today . No power loss , just bad roads . No parts from many suppliers . Many customers cancelled . But , still had work .
Be safe all !

Wolf----sorry for your loss.

Harleymsn----glad you have power restored.

I wish everybody a pleasant evening and great weekend.

I am currently enjoying some Evan Williams Honey with just a touch of ice.

We still have a lot of snow on the ground, tomorrow the rest should melt. By sunday rain is expected, somewhere in between I need to get enough of this deadwood to burn so that I can give Rufuss a sendoff. He's heavier than I remembered...

But it has to be done, can't let him just rot somewhere until the ground thaws enough for a grave.

The other thing is that this flu or whatever still hasn't completely let go of me. With grace and good luck things will be halfway back to normal soon.

I still get tired real easy. My sickness was three weeks ago. If I was closer, I would come over to offer what help I could.

A bag of Matchlight charcoal will get a proper send off fire started for your furry friend . A proper fire structure above , good results .
Just a thought , trying to help .

I think I need to take care of this myself, but thanks.

If that mess out there didn't soak all the wood to the core, I think I can get it to catch.
I have a huge backlog of shipping boxes I need to dispose of at the same time, they should do it.

Going to be a rainy week....great time to throw some grass seed on those bare spots in the yard if you're so inclined.

Have a GREAT Tuesday.

I would if it wouldn't roll down the hill. It's really soft here too. Would be a great time to do it.

It seems the weather has taken quite a toll around the estate as well. I did a walk-around yesterday afternoon and found limbs down, bare patches on the ground, some minor fence damage and a couple places of trim that need a dab of paint. The bright side was the crocus that have bloomed. Made the dreary day a bit brighter.

Hope everyone has a dry and safe Wednesday.
