I haven't seen any around here in years. I do hear that they are getting braver and coming closer to congested areas. I don't know a good way to get to do it J.

Thing is ... I am not anywhere near a congested area ! I own 50 acre . Farm land all around . 1500 acre across the road , 100 acre to my right , 800 acre to my left , 60 acre behind me . on all that land ... 6 houses !
Going to sit up tonight with my semi auto ....as many rounds as I can squeeze off as fast as I can . Tomorrow I will set up a tree stand , closer to the house , and do some serious hunting in the future . May loose some sleep ... But it will be fun , like the old days !

Sounds fun! I've never had a big problem with them though. Good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks .. I have not been on a night hunt in years !
I have tagged along with coon hunters crossing my place , But not been on a real night hunt for a long time .
Time to dust off the equipment , supplies , and my trusty carbine .

I really like the way a carbine shoots.

Use to hunt squirrel and rabbit with my Daisy and a 22 , Mom hated picking out led .
She taught me how to hunt . Pop was away most of the time . Mom killed deer with a 410 . I picked off small game , 1 shot to the head she said . Pop was a fisher , he taught me to fish . All in all , we did OK . Garden , game , groceries .... Miss the old days myself .

Good memories I hope !
I remember our "garden "
about 30 acre at times , after Pop moved back from working away .
Good times though . Gone at sun up , after chores , back at sun down .
1000+acre and rivers and creeks to explore ! Fish , frogs , small game ...
Many times I caught and cooked lunch or supper .Mom never worried .
She did have a dinner bell , a large cast iron bell on a pole . If it rang ... I RAN home .... No Cell phones back then , Heck we were on a party line at home !

My favorite things were frogging and fishing while wading the river . Many a fish cooked on the river bank . Frogs were brought back home to be properly cooked !

Might keep some people away! I might just have to come down that way and visit sometime J. Getting time is the big issue.
