Hello all,
I am North of the border, and 3700 miles from my truck in Baja, so am getting my 'Truck Fix' through the FE and your bump comments. Hey Early I have a set of those moldings, that I bought off evilbay, and I probably am not going to use them.. I can haul the back North next time, and ship 'em to you for a few pesos... if you are still looking in Sept.
Looking real nice ultra. With the black wheels and black rear bumper the front bumper would look good in black...........maybe?
Thanks.
Rear bumpers were optional and dealer installed if they were put on. My truck originally had a painted dealer rear step bumper. A bad/worn gear selector lever let the truck fall out of park and into reverse, while the engine was running, when the previous owner had the truck. It backed into a tree and destroyed the step bumper.
I put the painted contour rear bumper on. I'm not really big into chrome but, I have some ideas with some modifications to make on the rear bumper. IF I do the mods, it didn't make any sense to buy a chrome bumper, cut on it and then turn around and have to have it rechromed.
Since lots of trucks either didn't come with a rear bumper or, came with a chrome front bumper and a painted rear bumper (usually white or silver), I'm a ways off from crossing that bridge and haven't really made up my mind how it will ultimately end up.
Looking Sweet, and I love the hub caps. Almost looks like 4WD hubs at first glance.. at least in the photos. The bed I put back on my 67 has 'Custom' on the side where yours has the ranger insignia. My truck was a ranger originally, or at least, the glove box has a ranger emblem on it. I have to get a pair of the ranger logos to bring it back a little closer to stock. Those disc brakes sure must be nice.

Baja
Thanks, Baja.
Going from the stock front drums to discs was a major improvement. Much easier to modulate the braking force, tracks straight under braking and hauls down from speed quickly and controllably.
The 'Ranger' emblems were in cursive script on the '67-'69 Rangers. The '70-'72 'Ranger' emblems were in block letters. I actually like the look of the block letters more than the cursive version.
Looks nice and clean. Love the West Coast Mirrors.
Thanks, Sam.
Lot of people like that style mirror however, I'm not one of them.
If the truck was a lifted long bed four wheel drive, they might look ok. On a short bed though, they just look too big and totally disproportionate to the rest of the truck, to me.
I know that my Flareside came with the West Coast mirrors from the factory. With that said, I made the decision to go with small bronco style mirrors because of the limited room I have in my garage/driveway entry into garage.
Even though I am a fan of chrome and those mirrors I think you did good Steve. Lookin' good Buddy. The red, white, and blue needs to go back on the Ranger emblems but I'm not sure how good that would work on that color of Green.

Thanks, Jeff.
My truck is FAR from the quality of some of the trucks I've seen on here but, at the same time, it could be a lot worse.
The lower part of the Ranger script on my truck would have had the red, white and blue on it when new. ....and everybody knows red and green are Christmas colors.
