OK, I got it. It's not the 4R70w, but its been a good transmission. I had it rebuilt at 198K. The reverse serve(?) was cracked in half. Now it has 231K on it and runs fine.
Here are the pics of the decal:
Here is a beter view of the trans info:
An Explorer transmission code of "D" in '92-'96 would be an M5OD-R1. In '97-'05, it would be an A5LDE/5R44/55E.
The good news is the rear end has a Traction-Lok 3.73 ratio in it (axle code D4).

I got the old Green Machine all slicked up (well, as slicked up as the old paint can get) and took it for a nice Sunday drive. [/URL]
Senor ultraranger.... I picked up a Dentside contour rear bumper for cheap and am planning on installing it on my '71 F250.
Your assistance is requested. I need some measurements for layout.... the on-center spacing of the rear bumper bolt holes - left inner to right inner, left outer to left inner, and right outer to right inner.
In inches please... HIO Silver don't do metrics. Thanks. Here is the bumper....

I'll have to get back to you on that one. --my uncle has a chrome Dentside rear bumper on his '71 Ranger XLT but, I don't know what he did to the bumper brackets to mount it.
Ultra amigo,
I like your green machine, and it sure is purdy when all cleaned up. Are those reflectors below the tail lights? And, are they stock? Sure look it... My '68 Highboy doesn't have 'em... Any source recommendation??

Thanks. My truck isn't the best looking or without flaws but, I suppose it isn't the worst looking either.
'67 trucks didn't have any side or rear reflectors. '68 only had side reflectors.'69 had side and rear reflectors. '70-'72 had side and rear reflectors but the rear reflectors (under the tail lights) were smaller than the '69 rear reflectors.
Thanks buddy,
Since my truck is a '68 cab, on a '72 chassis, with a '70 bed, I would have expected to see some reflectors..? Not that I am a purist, but those on your truck, do look very nice, and add to the bed "Bling".. and look to be an easy addition. My wife likes to dress up, so why not my 'Mistress', as she refers to my old truck. Truly, she is just 5 ft tall, and 104 lbs, but "Hulk's Up" when driving the old truck. Kind of like a puffed up humming bird. The Mexican ladies love to see her pull into the market, with the guys jaws dropping. I try to act nonchalant, but rarely carry that off.

I think the smaller '70-'72 rear reflectors, under the tail lights, looks better than the bigger '69 rear reflectors but, that's just my opinion.

2X. My opinion also on the 70/72 reflectors. At one point in time I had bought both sides from Kinsel L/M to put on my 68. But one of them is boxed wrong. Came the bare, without chrome bezel style. I'd have to check when I get home Baja which one I have that has chrome. I'll give it to you. OR, DC has them in my 2/2013 catalog for $35.00 each. Or the below places have both sides in stock. Some listed them as DO and some D0.
R/S........D0TZ13380A.
L/S........D0TZ13380B.
I will wait until you get home amigo, and gladly take the one you have...I will pay for pack & shipping to San Diego. Thanks amigo, I can look for the other later.. when I know which one it is...

Ok, pull your boot straps up. Here we go.....
1. Left Inner bumper bolt to Right Inner bolt is 36-3/8".
2. Left Outer to Left Inner is 8-7/8" (same for the right side bolt spacing).
3. As an added bonus: from the Centerline of the bumper, the distance to the Inner Bolts (on each side of the centerline) is 18". From the Centerline of the bumper to the Outer Bolts on each side is 26-15/16". From Outer Bolt to Outer Bolt is 54-1/4".
Note: These measurements were taken with a tape measure and may not be accurate down to the nth-degree but, it will be within in a small fraction of their true measurements and should get you close enough to work out a set of frame-to-bumper brackets, to hang that shiny tail ornament on your truck's hiney.

Awesome. Much appreciated! I'll see which way it goes.. meaning, to modify the bumper, modify the bump brackets or modify the Bronco brackets.

Roger that.
If my bumper was chrome, I don't think I'd want to do anything to modify it that would mess up the finish (require it to be re-chromed).
....on the other hand, with a painted bumper, you could weld the bolt holes up, cut the heads off of some bolts and weld the threaded portions to the back side, where the heads wouldn't show --hidden bolts.
If my rear bumper was chrome, I would probably just work it out with the brackets instead. ....your call on that though. Good luck.
