I don't think that fits BB ZF5 Bruno.
It's only 10x1 1/16 shaft and 11"

That is Windsor stuff.

Doctor's report: Pterygium removal on the right eye Wed morn with a couple week heal-up before lifting anything over 15 lbs. Then, in mid-April I'll have the cataract removed from the left eye and then a couple weeks later the right eye.

Jim - The machine shop has an AFR recording setup, so the WOT pulls are covered. However, Stanley said I could put my Edelbrock meter on if I wanted and we could tune the cruise AFR. But then we talked about it and decided that it would be easy enough to tune cruise on the truck so will pass.

Also, not sure what was meant when I said "I have a gearbox, not a transmission". Anyway, I do agree that the CR will provide good engine braking. I know that diesel in the GLK backs off quickly.

Bruno - Are you saying I'll need a monster clutch?

Don't remember the diameter nor the spline count, but it dwarfs both the W and M clutches.

It's 1 1/4"-10, and a 12"pp.

This was covered in the ZF5 swap thread.

I believe that was a reference to the ZF being manual. Literally a box with gears inside, as opposed to a fully automatic trans that transmits power without operator input (for the most part).

Will your lifting limit affect your build progress, or will the parts come in after your limitations end?

My eyes are still not working well after all the testing, so I didn't go look. Thanks.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ct...-350/year/1996

This is the only one Summit offers and I cant find it on Amazon.

I am sure LUK or Hayes offers something. The one in the link above is a dual friction set up like the sled pullers use. However, it was the only one that came up when I plugged in street/strip.

Gary you may want to call Southbend and see what they offer for your truck. They are the clutch Guru's.

Ahhh. Makes sense.

No, I can work around the lifting limit as the near-term need is to get things nailed down 100% with Tim as well as get a few parts powder coated for the body guy.

Gary, does this mean you get to wear an eye patch?

If so can you promise to talk like a pirate

Best of luck with the procedures.

Gary, I am not saying you need a monster. I am saying you will need more than you have. However you can run the stocker until you glaze it or burn it completely up to get your money's worth out of it. Then again it's easier to do while the motor and tranny is out of the truck.

I dont know if you can get away with an organic disc or not. They say organic is only good for about 400 hp. Kevlar may be the way to go for you. They grab really well, but take longer to seat. I have a "feramic" set up from Southbend. It's a cross breed between organic and ceramic. They have come a long way with this disc from when they started making them. The feramic used to be really hard on drivetrane components when pulling trailers because they had virtually no slip before lock up. So just imagine being hooked to a 10k lb trailer and the truck suddenly taking off like a striped *** baboon when you let the clutch out. This made backing them up a PITA. However, they seem to have worked that issue out and actually recommend them for pulling trailers. Mine doesnt give me any trouble when pulling my trailers and I had one way over loaded right before Christmas. I didnt mean to load it that heavy, but the clutch didnt give me any trouble at all.

Gary you need to have Chris bring some medical MJ down from Denver at the next GTG to help with your eyes.

Brad - I do get to wear a patch. But I don't know how a pirate talks, although my grandson has a look we call his pirate look as it seems like he's saying Arrrgghh! So I'll ask him.

Bruno - Thanks for the link. I'll file it away as I'm not ready to think about a clutch yet since I'm still working on the engine. But, don't give up on Jegs or Summit just yet. I looked at costs from them as well as Amazon for the ARP fasteners. For the rod and main bolts they were pennies apart, but while both Jegs and Summit have them for $88.98, Amazon wants $112.35. However, Amazon doesn't have the oil pump drive. And all three had free shipping.
