Is my EBP sensor reading too high. Need i order one... ??
I live in the Imperial Valley... Altitude is -45' ... or without being too technical we can say i am at Sea Level.
Is my Baro V ... OK????
BARO good, MAP good, EBP a tiny bit high... but maybe not worth the $100 at the stealership to replace. The bible says spec is within 0.2 PSI... you're only out by 0.6 PSI. I was out by over 3.0 PSI when I changed mine and I still have the skid marks on my fuel gauge to show for it. EYYU was out by 1.0 PSI or more and he changed his (I think), but I never heard back if that made a difference. Being off by 1.0 PSI all the way up the scale is not a disaster, but being off by 7.4% all the way up is not insignificant.
Here ya go. Two runs. Although the second was cut short by the laptop battery dying.
Thank you for that. I'll review and post when I have a little more time than I do now. I will compare your BARO readings with my "flight" over the Cascade Range this weekend.

Tugly, where are you getting these numbers from? I want, no I need, no I morn for these numbers can you share you wisdom...
Here you go, I ran out of fuel today.... don't ask... the in tank mods are screaming my name, but I don't have time to work on it for 2 months... hence, don't let it get below a 1/4 tank...
Since I had the AE out.
AE capture engine off.
AE capture engine at idle.
This is with the Superchips programmer on it. Don't know if that is changing my EBP readings or not. Mesa AZ approx 1250 ft elevation.

Reason: corrected the picture...

Both rpm's are showing zero but you say the second pic the engine is at idle.

--- Donn, if the Superchip tune you're running is like mine, it lowers your MAP reading. When I tested mine with the "towsafe" tune, it reads 12.7 PSIa. After I put it back to stock tune, it reads almost exactly as my EBP, 14.75 PSIa. So, put your truck back to stock tune and try it. It should correct this problem. Eriwn

Tug, mine "seemed" to be off by 2 PSI (MAP lower than EBP) and truck is running fine. However, this is very MISLEADING. I found out the the Supoerchip tune put a 2 PSI offset to my MAP at the end of my investigation. SO, take home message: a difference between MAP and EBP of greater than the factory spec may NOT be acceptable as we thought. Erwin

Contributing information yet again... gotta love it.
I also learned something else from an earlier contribution by matt9923 - select non-OBDII Initialization Type and J1850PWM and Vehicle Interface Type to get the quickest response from opur 7.3L. I had been using OBDII-compliant and it worked, but the other way is better. I also corrected the text and I will be correcting the screenshot.

Thanks, this will help a lot.

I also checked my MAP reading. With a DP tune 80hp I was getting a reading
MAP 12 EBP 14.7 BARO 14.7
I took it back to stock
MAP 14 EBP 14.7 BARO 14.7
This tells me 2 things 1 DP tunes also lowers the MAP reading and 2 my sensor needs to be replaced. I should no more than .2 off of BARO.

I'm not sold that we should fret over .5 below tolerance... I thought I checked your data and it was bang-on. Was this taken with engine off?

Yes KOEO, the default is 14 when unplugged. So a am wondering if it is bad and the computer is bringing it to default. I also have incorrect boost readings from the infinity vs the mechanical boost gauge. When the mechanical gauge is reading 5 the infinity is reading 2 and when mechanical gauge is reading 25 the infinity is reading 17.
