Always wanted to post in this, but have never been game to take the old girl very far. Recently my best mate and I went out of town, about an hour and a half trip each way, to visit a great motorcycle swap meet we have visited for many years. This is the furthest I have been game to drive it, expected to break down (never has yet) but got home safe and sound. On the way I asked him to take some photos. He is in a worse way than I am healthwise, and not real good with some techy things. Like phone cameras.
When I got to look at them he had about twenty odd photos, all with his thumb in front of the lens. I suggested videos at one stage and he got some. A lot of great shots of his feet, the dashboard and occasionally out of the windscreen. I culled them to several short ones of about ten seconds each, shame I can't put them together for a little idea of some of the country we passed through. I can't work out how to post a video off my computer. So a pretty pathetic attempt but I was so looking forward to putting some photos in here finally.
I took one photo of an old Ford truck near the swap meet. I cheated with this, It was through the drivers window.
And my old bus in the parking lot at the swap meet. I should have taken one through the windshield when I pulled up looking over the swap meet field .
That blue truck is the greatest!! May I ask a trade secret? What are you running with regards to ride height?
Abe, thanks for sharing with us some of the extraordinary mountain and river views that you are privileged to see all the time. I'm hoping to be back out to your beautiful state next September!
The 1st or 2nd weekend in October, we go camping and to the National Apple Harvest Festival held at the South Mountain Fairgrounds in Adams County PA. We take the 54 F100 because they have a car show and you can drive right in and park on the fairgrounds. We think of it as preferred parking.
Fall colors in the Wisconsin Northwoods--My driveway is just at the bottom of the little hill. I smile every time I come home and count my many blessings. I posted a similar picture last year at about the same time, but this year I have a hood and a windshield.
If I could live where it looked like that all year round, Jim, I'd be there in a minute!
I went for drive up into the foothills, to the national forest boundary. Not much color because it's 99% evergreens, but a beautiful day and a nice view from up there.
We are blessed to live in a beautiful country. That's for sure. This thread documents that so well. Everywhere you go there are unique things to see and do. I haven't visited New Mexico yet Ross, but I sure hope to do so soon. We have lots of lakes and leaves where I live--but no mountains or canyons that you are able to see and enjoy everyday.
I must tell you that my road doesn't always look like what you see in the picture. For several months of the year, snowbanks are the dominate feature. They are not always white and pristine either.
