Hey we passed that near Portland Maine on I95 just a few weeks ago! Well I can't imagine they have that many of these trucks. Maybe it wasn't the same truck. But seriously how many wiener-mobiles are out there anyway?!
My son and I and some buddies took a road trip across New Mexico to a truck show this weekend. We had my 49 F1, my son was driving his grandpa's 75 Dodge D200, my buddy drove his old Studebaker flatbed and on trailers we had the 25 GMC hot rod, 67 Kaiser M15, and a1913 Ford Model T stake truck.
This is through the driver's side window. Shadow of my home built truck based woodie as we pass through the State Park. It isn't done but it's driveable so I can't help venturing out in it once in a while.
Hey Bobby,
I like your convoy! So... what rule do you follow if one guy breaks down?
Do you just leave him there or does the whole group pull over to work on it?

Funny you should ask. Everyone pulls over and lends a hand. On the way home my buddy blew out the transmission in his 2016 GMC. He used the GMC to haul the Kaiser truck up to the show because he didn't want to make the rest of us travel along at 50mph. Anyway, about halfway home he lost the transmission. We ended up offloading the Kaiser from the trailer, hitching the trailer to the Kaiser and then loading the GMC on the trailer. The ol' Kaiser did pretty well and we got everything home with only a minor delay.
Thanks guys. I like the Kaiser too. M715 Vietnam war era with that unusual tornado inline six with ohc. That's a great story about pulling it's tow rig home.
Bobby i love that the newest vehicle in the group broke down. It says alot about how things were made years ago.
.
Yea, we were all pretty surprised. The one truck that shouldn't have broke down had to be towed home. The Kaiser doesn't have the original engine, the previous owner put a small block chevy in it. It also has some pretty shoddy chassis mods going on. My buddy has only had it for about 6 months. He recently picked up a late 70s' GM 1 ton 4x4 chassis and is going to do a body swap. He wants to be able to beat on it a bit without worrying about walking home.
It sure is fun to make a road trip with a bunch of old trucks!
