There were cops a-plenty in the area and their presence was no secret. There was one group of thugs that they pushed up Figueroa all the way past 7th before they dispersed, but I didn't see anything else on TV.
Are you in downtown LA Joe?

Just remembered, Carol and I heard firecrackers and I said something about the neighborhood getting ready for the 4th a bit early. Now I know what it was for. I musta been zonked out last night.
Doesn't bother me one bit. It used to, but hey, they're all professionals.
Honestly, I wanted the Devils to win, so that Brodeur could have another cup and then retire, but then I forgot about Willie Mitchell. He played for my team a few years ago. That guy is all class. Glad he won it.
Fun day so far. I go to my storage unit to pick up my plate compactor and a couple of other things, and when I arrive there's a lock on it that isn't mine. So immediately I'm thinking somebody cut my lock, ripped off my stuff and put a different lock on. I get in my truck (the '94) to go up to the office to find out what's going on, and click...it's dead. Walk up to the office and get the guy, he comes out and cuts the lock; fortunately, nothing was missing from the unit. They don't know how or why it happened, but they gave me a new lock so I guess I'm happy.
Now, on to the truck. Nobody has cables so I call AAA and a guy shows up to check everything out. Battery is ok so the alternator must be ok too, whacked on the starter a few times to see if we'd get lucky but no dice. Called for a wheel lift and drug it home. Starter not in stock, won't have one 'til tomorrow.
