Some things are best left to the imagination

John didn't find anything wrong with with my truck's front end. Ball joints, drag link, rod ends, bearings...everything checks out OK. He's of the opinion that my truck just doesn't like the BFG AT's, and he says it's not the first Ford he's seen where that's the case. They're all I've ever run on this truck, but this set is further along in miles than the last set was when I changed them. Gonna have to think about this one.

I can see where absentee would be attractive for you guys, what with your daily commute and all. Our polling place is only two blocks away, so we (rather, I) get to go for a walk at least once a year.

Steve, what is it the tires are doing? Wandering? Shimmy?

Cupping on the edges too? - starting to sound like you're driving an excursion!

Depending on the road...some are worse than others...I'll get oscillation in the steering wheel. I tried rotating my tires (back to front) and it was even worse; right on the verge of the dreaded death wobble. Yes Sean, cupping both inside and outside...worse on the inside.

I know the steering damper isn't the best, if you remember it's a stock unit I got from Big George a couple years ago when my original bit the dust. If everything is right I wouldn't think that should make too much difference though.

I see a $1,200 tire bill in your future.

When I had that tread separation last year, it felt like a shimmy through the steering wheel. Of course, that tire was coming apart altogether.

Happy voting day everyone! I voted two weeks ago, (absentee) as I can't be bothered to walk two blocks to the local church (which I go to every Sunday anyway) and tell them what I think.

Quite likely I'll be getting tires. I thought about taking them down to Nate Jones to get them shaved but I don't think there would be enough tread left to make it worthwhile.

Steve i was a big supporter for many years of BF Goodrich, but my last few sets on both my work trucks, and cars have been nothing short of crap...... very disappointing... The T/A's that I had on my 02 Mustang GT got so damned noisy that everyone thought I had wheel bearings failing. My Son's focus had the same Tires, and they did exactly the same. I am now running on Continental's , which are much better in the grip, noise, and wear departments , the Conti's also have ultra low rolling resistance, which has bumped my mileage up noticeably .. Per articles that I read, and strong recommendations from a Tire rack Rep, that I met at Willow springs, when my son was running his track car.... He also suggested General tires for my trucks, which have been just awesome tires, very quiet, and smooth, and the handling drastically improved on every vehicle that I put them on. The other plus is that they can handle up to 85 PSI, with the proper inflation valves installed which allows for greater load capacities. Like I said, I was a BF Goodrich- Die hard, but the tire quality of late has been atrocious. I try to be very brand Loyal, but if they are making the tires now in China Or Korea or such, which appears to be the case for BFG, I Had to find better stuff, so I researched and found US made tires again. General Tires are US Made, and the Conti's that I put on MY Mustang are Canadian made... Just my two cents on this....
