... Dang it... Like i said there are 2 other black plugs like this but they are connected to other wiring that goes towards the tail light. The passenger side is the same. I am confused now...
I can take a pic of my wire harness, I removed the trailer wiring on mine.
I had a 7 post anyhow so it would not have helped.
Anyhow what you have there is the tail light connections, there is one on each side.
I would suggest getting a helper to press the brake pedal and get out you multimeter.
Clean up that wiring and wire in your trailer harness at the same time.
The main harness should 4 have wires, Right brake/Signal, Left brake/Signal, Tails, and Reverse.
The ground is sourced behind the tail light housings.
Use your meter to test for the above functions and wire it properly...

Man i was hoping i wouldn't have to do any of that.. Well i will check out the wiring kits around here and work on that...
So after i find a carb and intake, or just an intake once that is squared away i am going to look into a saginaw swap, seems to be all the rage. Other than that I gave TGM a work out, after not driving much the past month or so, i drove 24 miles of winding freeway to my brothers house. It was a crazy drive but a good one. On the way home i pushed it to what i was thinking was about 70 and it was kind of scary with all the shaking and rattling and squeaking. But i went to my work (gas station) to get a jug of water, and the motor was running smoother than it has in a while so i think i sanded the rough edges pretty much... I am not sure what was wrong with it but i have had a hard time getting it to start and stay running, it just seems like it isn't timed right. Oh well it probably has to do with the carb not being setup correctly.
So i found this
It is from a ford econoline van, had the V8. Has pretty much everything including fluid in it. They junk yard said they would probably charge about $35 for it and thats if i pull it and drain the fluid into a pan or bucket. I also noticed when i passed a chevy, i think it was a suburban or something but i decided to peek and it too had a saginaw but with a huge serpentine belt pulley so i know we have a few. The thing is, i need to know that this will work with my truck so that i won't buy it to find out it won't work. I also will have to pot pictures of the bracket to see what i have to modify. I can cut with a grinder but i can't weld. I have a neighbor who can weld if needed I figure i will just cut the lines off and take them with me just to see if i can use them and if not i can use them to get replacements.
Also how hard do you think it would be to do the swap for someone who has no experience in this operation?
Ok now for another update, the guy across the street from me had an old ford custom cab pickup with a 4 inch suspension lift. His son is doing an 18 inch lift on it (no idea why) and he asked me if i knew anyone who wanted to buy the old lift kit. Comes with everything from the rear blocks to the track bar setup to the radius arms themselves. It also would come with ladder bars for the rear axle to prevent the axle wrap they were dealing with. I plan to get the total amount of $$ he wants when he figures it out and if i am comfortable buying it i will probably get it. THEN i plan to sell the rear leafs and the front springs and everything else i don't need. The reason i would sell the springs is cause the rear leaf packs are F-350 springs, and the blocks i won't use. I plan to do a shackle flip on the rear, the front springs on the other hand are like super duty springs, he dropped a 460 in the truck and the springs dropped less than an inch so they would be waaaaayyy too stiff for me. I plan to buy the Deaver superflex ones from JBG for about $180 for both. Of course none of this is concrete yet but we are working on it.
Also what year was that van? Assuming its correct for your 351m its very straight toward nothing complicated to swap
The lift kit as far as my neighbor knows is around 77. The coil mount place is the same as mine but has some slight differing parts due to the coil metal being much bigger than stock.
The PS pump, i want to say it was an 87 eco BUT it looked like there was a carb on the engine so i can't be sure. For the life of me i can't remember what the badge said on the side for the engine but i assume it is of the Windsor family. I figure tomorrow i can go and pull it and if i find i can't use it then i will sell it to someone who can.
It may not bolt right up then. Sorry man. Shouldn't be too hard to modify it tho.
Ya i was already heading for that assumption that it wasn't going to work.

As an update, i didn't get around to going to the junkyard, it started raining here so i figured it will be there tomorrow. Also tomorrow i plan to try doing a redneck radiator flush and putting new hoses on. My redneck flush is using my moms garden hose to spray water in the radiator till it runs clean
