Maybe it'll fit in a flat rate box.

It's like $25 or $30, not terrible.

Well I made a bit of progress tonight. I got the new MLPS switch on. Got it lined up, so teh reverse lights work, but since my cable is messed up from the column shifter it doesn't work properly I am very close I think to getting my floor shifter going. I think I figured out a way to rig what I have so I don't have to modify my Y-pipe and lose the ground clearance.

Here's a picture of my linkage situation:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/62639173@N03/6422560973/http://www.flickr.com/photos/62639173@N03/6422560973/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/62639173@N03/, on Flickr

The bronze bracket in the lower right is for the new shifter. The kit flips the linkage to the bottom side of the MLPS. Unfortunately, since JBG is less then spectacular in some (read as all) of their descriptions, I did not know this. My thinking is that I can get a piece of flat stock steel and cut a rectangle, bolt it onto the bracket and then go up to where the cable is:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/62639173@N03/6422560055/http://www.flickr.com/photos/62639173@N03/6422560055/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/62639173@N03/, on Flickr

There is a bracket that bolts to hold that cable in place right where the indention is on the silver part of the sleeve. So I'd bolt that bracket to my homemade steel bracket.

Now I know that by doing this it will effectively reverse my shift pattern, at least I hope it works that smoothly. The All I will have to do is make a new faceplate for the shifter.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy or possibly on to something possible?

I'm totally lost on what's going on with your shifter.. I'm honestly just waiting for you to finish so I can copy everything you did then put mine in with like 3 hours worth of work with no guessing (thanks by the way)

How much did it cost you anyways? I can't remember if you mentioned the price.

Winters Sidewinder E4OD & 4R100 Shifter, For Bronco

If you have a stock Y-pipe then you can install this kit without the mods I have to do to the linkage hook-up. Just follow everything I've done up to this point for the shifter.

Yeah, I wouldn't be showing off if they were strictly GM magnets. Tho my next order better have an old Mach 1 or a Cougar magnet. Heck I'd be happy with a clean Fairlane....
