wondering if you can help me out here, I have a fmx trans, with a code on the tag of phc-a3
what I found out so far is this, a PHC-A is 1973P350/500 PHC-A1 is 73-74 P350/500 PHC-A2 is 74-76 P350/500 and The PHC-A3 is 1977P500
the tag on my trans is PHC-A3 L2B bottom row is D7TP AGA
What I am trying to find out is, what is the difference in the PHC's as it might help me in my search of this trans
Casting number from trans D4AP-7008-AA
or if you have any suggestions where I would find this trans. anything would be helpful, thanks
PHC-A3 = FMX 1977 P500 300 I-6 // Trans assy w/converter: D7TP-7000-AGA // Trans assy w/o converter: D7TP-7003-AGA
Finding an FMX from a P series will be almost impossible, especially on the rust prone east coast. I would assume that most FMX's use the same internal parts.
not to worried about where I will find it, im up for a road trip, any idea about the other phc's? are they the same setup?, what I have found out is that this particular FMX has a very short tailshaft with no mounting holes on it, aslo not sure about the internals, I did read that someone posted that these ones used in the p series had a extra disc in them with a shorter piston, not sure if that's true or not, so im not sure about the internals

actually nothing, im trying to find a second one for a project that I am working on, also I forgot to mention earlier, that for Ford industrial division manufactured 144 172 192 engine, and made a bell housing to bolt to these transmissions, I understand that this trans was used in some forklifts, logging equiptment etc....
btw im also looking for a flexplate, D6JL-6375-B thanks for all your help
May 2001, I was in Berlin (among other things, I'm a WWII history buff), the new Daimler-Benz office building had just been completed in Potsdamer Platz.
Berlin is as flat as London, 100's of building cranes dotted the skyline, it was amazing, I've never seen anything like it.
appreciate the help fellas, narrowinf down the information I need, trying to find this exact trans with my extension housing and end cap is tough but im getting there
I have every Ford Truck Parts Catalog from 1928 thru 2001, so I can decode all the VIN info, codes from the Rating/Warranty Plates and the Certification Label first used in 1981.
If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.
If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).
I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.
