My old friction bar anti-sway setup was like that (the weight distribution portion) and it worked well for the years I used it.
I use a Reese Dual Cam anti-sway weight distribution setup now.

Yeh, it's just bars and chains..I haven't used it as the hitch it permanently welding vs adjustable and way to high for my combination. I just dont want to spend $60+ on modifying it if the bars are gonna make it worse by unloading the trailer and not kill sway.
So here is a quesion for the camper gurus. I have a built ex...v/b codes, timbrens, 30mm bar etc. I currently have a small camper 60's FAN single axle, 24' long. Its light and the Ex deoesnt even act like its back there.
The ISSUE is sway. It's a short, single axle trailer....yes I have as much tongue weight as possible, which laughbly hardly squats the ex at all. But make 65-70 she sways pretty good, add a semi or exp joint and it gets white knucle.
I do have an old WD set up with round bars. It would have to be modified for my trailer with a drop hitch and some custom brackets ($60-100). I currently tow it with just a simple drop hitch and ball. Would adding something like a friction sway controller work. The things are like $25 at harbor freight with a 20% coupon.
I almost thing the WD hitch wuld make it worse but unloading the front of the trailer more.
With how you are currently towing this single axle trailer, how level is the trailer? If you tow a single axle trailer with the tongue too high they tend to want to sway.
Sounds like you need sway control more than weight distro. Weight distro won't help much with that issue. Single axle will amplify the way the trailer is loaded also. dual axle would help, and dual axle with more spread between axles even more so. What's your life worth? Money well spent to get some sway control.
trailer rides level when towed. yes it is single axle, not way to change that. Also not trying to cheap out, just not throwing money at something that wont fix it.
That is why I thought I would ask about a friction sway control as I dont need the WDH( it would actually make the tongue lighter)
Not trying to offend, just saw too many Ex accidents lately and they don't end well. Good luck with your purchase! Adding sway control is worth every penny.

when I am towing seeing other bumper tows going faster than me it scares me the most on the Highway... I'm always thinking (don't sway into me... don't flip in front of me... ) Last tow I was an F150 not even using WD bars
Ok, go some help from my IT Dept (my son ) so hopefully these pictures will show up......

Nice!
I think that you will really like them, they do speed up campsite setup and breakdown. Did you drill the million holes?
Camped along the Ohio river last week. Leith Run, a small forest service cg. Sites a bit close together for my taste, but still a nice park. Have to reserve well in advance for the prime riverfront sites.
