so my buddy rick just called me up and asked me if I'd be interested in his rebuilt 466 for $500. He had a package deal that I was going to buy that included 2 trucks with a lot of rebuilt parts that would've equaled one solid 1 ton with lots of spares, but I just didn't have the room to swing that deal and he didn't wanna part **** out. Well a guy is interested in everything he has except his motor, so here's the details as i remember them, not too crystal on them, but he has a build sheet with a tally of parts and prices. Rick used to work for a reputable machine shop and built it back then. It has at most maybe 500 miles on it. mild port work on a set of dove-c's, 0.30 over i believe stock rods and crank, 10ish to 1 compression and a mildly lumpy cam, edelbrock performer intake, and a worked over holley 750. the big kicker is it comes with a newer set of coated L&L's and and i think he said the mounts too, regardless i have a set.
what would you guys do? I have the money, but the 408 in the truck is fresh and healthy so it's not like i need a motor, but i could possibly sell the 408 off to the guy that bought my bronco for 2-300 and have a healthy 466 for essentially $200. the headers alone are in the $500ish range, and mo bigga is mo betta
