have to, can't get **** accomplished when i stay up boozing till 5 in the morning and then have to get up and be with the kids from 10 till sleep. the wife has been pretty much no help at all in getting me some truck time, as she is way lazier with the kids now that there are 2 of them. she has a short temper now since her cousin became her boss, turns out her cousin is a royal douche when put in a position of power, so the wife has been coming home pissed off and physically drained from work stress.
pissed off tired wife=100% fulltime daddy mode=no gd time for trucks so i decided if i cut out the late night/early morning boozing i can go to sleep earlier and get up and work on the rig in the mornings.
been trying to stay off the puter lately, but the weather hasn't been cooperating. between the dd and the new truck i have a lot of time i need to be spending with wrenches in my hands, problem is the more motivated i am the quicker and easier i snap on people for small reasons, which has been my main reason for less puter time lately. i'd be band in no time with 100% motivation and daily activity. it's a fine line i have to learn to walk.
yup. i have been told that i am a much nicer person since i quit drinking 10 years ago.
not that i was a mean drinker or drunk, just that i was a nasty, irritable person when hungover. and my daughter is the one that told me that. everyone else was too afraid to say anything.
just ordered the ruffstuff shackle flip. thanks for the code kris. the 10% is the only valid one right now for those that are going to order from them. chances are i'm going to get those 40's from that guy while i can and have money and i'll hold back on the axles till i have more cash and he gets more serious on getting them out of the truck.
yeah, my buddy timmy did it to his ranger and it was actually pretty cool and functional. gotta get my hands on a sawzall and try it out, but i need to find some tool boxes first i guess.
biggest issue i'm having right now is finding eye bolts for the front s/d springs. they are metric and i can only find 2 places with them so far, a dude on ebay for $14 a pop with crappy shipping, and cheeto got me a quote from fastenal for $25 a pop. both prices are too high for my liking, stoopid metric ****.
which brings up this question; how tight of a fit do you need with spring eye bolts? a standard off the shelf 5/8's bolt fits but i can slide it right in by hand and feel that it has a minute amount of movement. a 3/4 is slightly too big, but i got the hairbrain idea to drill out the bushing insert to 3/4 as it is an 1/8'' thick and would have enough meat left to function. is this a ridiculous thought to save some money???? i really really really don't want to spend $20+ on a single bolt when i need 4 and the nuts which i'm sure also run a small fortune. my "J" wordishness won't allow me to spend that kind of cash on stuff i could get in a standard size for half price or cheaper.
p.s the s/d metric bolt is 18mm x 162mm if anyone has a source on cheap metric hardware.
idk, 11/16's wasn't hanging out on the local hardware store's shelf.
how tight should a spring bolt be? should i have to hammer it through, or what? not even being funny, but how tight is tight? i've never really dealt with leaf spring stuff and i don't want any "slop" issues added in to the mix.
